no i haven't cut out pasta and bread. There my two fav. things. But I don't eat them alot anymore. Maybe one or the other once a week.
Double shifts really bite the big one. They just scream for take out and delivery. I eat my pasta when I feel run down. Like I don't wanna move. The carbs will give me a boost and help me get back on track. Otherwise, It's a little cereral w/ milk in the morning, and a chicken ceaser salad wrap in the afternoon. I don't eat when I'm working, I just look forward to getting off and that cereal each morning. It takes a lot of disclipne to not over eat. The tough part with the Carb control is not lying to yourself and saying your run down when your really not. Too many carbs and on goes the weight. Fat cells say, "Well I can't use this stuff, I'll just store it for when I need it." But that dosen't stop the stomach from saying "FEED ME!"
Alchohol? Don't drink it. Can't even spell it. I imigine there will come a time when I will want a drink again, But not now, while there is work to do.
Ok, Mylissa, Here's what I do, When I started to loseweight, I had said to myself, Supkem, Your not going to make it unless you completely change your outlook on life. I even went so far as to drop the Supkem and name myself with something that was going to remind me of what I had to do. I had to be a rabbit. I had to run like one, eat like one, so It kinda made sense. Then I set up mini goals. When I hit 275, I would take a break. Eat some Pizza, veg on the couch for a week, sleep late. Let my body catch up and become comfortable with itself again. Heck, I may even gain back five pounds. But thats ok becouse I've accounted for it.
My next "scheduled" break comes when I hit 250. (And boy am I itching to get there now) I say "scheduled" Becouse sometimes life throws us a curve ball and we end up with more issues than we can handle and smaller breaks become nessacery. I call these re-sets. "The time has come for me to re-set my values and start over."
These smaller breaks ussually last a day maybe 36 hours, But never 2 days or more, as I begin to feel I am cheating myself.
The trick comes in getting back on the horse. Its OK to fall down, But you gotta remember that unless you pick yourself back up again, your going to lay there like a fallen log.
Oh, and just so you know, eat those steaks like the were water. That is to say,Meats or protein will add less fat than the bread and carbs. At least as far as I can see.
Have fun with Matt. Just don't make him do all the work.
