I have no idea, haven't majored in philosophy or even begun to think about taking it either. I'd like to know myself too if this is true anyway.

yeah, there would probobly be an outside the universe. Since the blast from the big bang is probobly still expanding. But we all know what happenes with a bomb that explodes.. first the force is outwards, this takes time, then it all claps back up again at the blink of an eye. When will that happen to the universe?

It's predicted that the universe will one day retract as Karky mentioned but that process hasn't even started yet as the solar systems are still getting further apart.
The bright side is that the Sun will have sucked us in as it burns out long before the universe colapses.
But then again God created everything and all this big bang stuff is made up anyway; it's true 'cos I read it on the internet

and Woodt, i always found my thought interresting (theres no education behind this, its just something i thought of a long time ago). Our planet is an electron orbiting around the atom core, the sun. So our solar system is an atom. The galaxy or our closest stars, make up the molecule. Sevral of these galaxies again make up different substances like metall, wood, you name it, in another world. And yes, in that theory, the things we know as molecules and atoms are also galaxies and planets
I really want to educate myself to be a teacher in elementary school or something, and teach my theory! Now THAT would be fun!

Interesting theory. But imagine the soccer mums response to that. And the religious fantatics. Imagine teaching evolution x10 xD
you should see "power of ten", shows how huge the universe really is.
