Anyone here believe in UFOs or aliens?

If Aliens did come down to earth, I would hope that they would have more sence than to be seen only by inbred fools. I was watching Louis Theroux the other day and there is one where he goes to met some guy who believes he has killed 20 aliens.

Sure, I believe there is other stuff out there, but I dont believe they would even want to contact us.

If your race was so advanced that you could travel billions of light years with out being detected. Then why would you want to deal with us. We would be like cattle to them.

Oh and crop circles are a bunch of crap. Ive made one and its really easy.

Least useful comment i have seen all day.

I have no comeback for that.

the crop circle part was a joke Lewis :p Though there is a difference between those who are made by man and those who are made otherwise. I think they found it to be some kind of geological thing that made them.

I find it hard to believe that people can easily accept the idea of a giant invisible man in the sky that created everything, but laugh if somebody mentions something super natural or life on other planets.

who said hes a giant and invisible and He's in the sky?

anyway, i do believe there is some sort of life out there. the universe is amazing. why would there be so much out there if only one tiny planet sustains life...
there may be creatures like us thinking the exact same thing "i wonder if theres life out there". i guess humans are meant to wonder.
for all we know, theres alternate dimensions that have completely different environments and we dont have the capacity to even imagine what it would be like because we only think what is possible on earth.

I love contemplating other dimensions. Has anyone ever read "The Elegant Universe"? It's an excellent book based on the string theory.

There was this one book I read a few years ago that was really good. It was a novel and was about a creature that lived in a 2-dimensional world who went to visit other dimensions. I forgot what it was called. It was cute though. I think it was written in the early 1900's?

Thanks for the recommendation Nicole!

No, seriously, its not that hard at all. you just use some poles and string for measuring over the crop, and a ruled plank. the more complicated and intricate, the more ploes you need.
Its just a Joke the English started to see if the rest of the world would bite. And it did.

And this one is in Yorkshire (about 15mins away from a friend of mine)

i thought there were two kinds. One where the straws were broken down, human made, and one where the straws were layed down, without being broken or anything, which couldnt be done by planks. thats what i heard. But it wasnt aliens anyway :p

Oh yeh, there's just too much evidence to support it. So much evidence...it like takes years and years and years to get through it all.

Good place to start:

Lei - that was a bit much for me to follow, but it reminded me of a great book.
Flatland: A Romance in Many Dimensions by Edwin A. Abbott.

Its one of the craziest book Ive ever read. you really should give it a go.

To not believe in aliens in most cases is stupidity. Mars is thought to have once housed life, and that's in our solar system. The universe is meant to have no size limit, therefore logically our position to our sun, and planets like the ones in our solar system, basically our solar system, should have been created more that once. You get me?

I'm more interested in inter-dimensional travel, so I can kill my other selves and become The One.

Yeah, I've heard some good things about Flatland, and I never read books anymore...maybe I should think about picking one up one of these days, lol

The universe is meant to have no size limit

Says who? As far as I can recall we've never actually probed outside of our own solar system. We know that there are other suns out there as we can see the light they project but any statement of universe size is merely a prediction. Most scientists these days are more interested in predicting the shape of the universe rather than size because the chance of something being infinite in size is very remote.

Just for the record though, I do believe in life outside our planet, however I doubt if there have ever been any alien aircraft over the earth.
The truth is that even though the odds are in favour of there being life elsewhere they're almost certainly millions of light years away so unless this other species can bend space then there's no way we'll ever meet them

I'm not sure who said that exactly. I've just heard it so many times. Not saying that I believe it, but it's something to do with time and dimensions etc. Complex physics. Something like when the 'Big Bang' happened energy was released and due to nothing stopping it, is still going out and out and out.

If the universe is not infinite that means their is a "boundary" a limit or wall if you will. If this is the case this means we are "inside" of something. Which means there is an "outside" so, what would that be?
