Ate way too much sodium yesterday and not nearly enough. Need to regroup and focus for the weekend.

Had a fantastic vacation in San Diego CA for the long weekend, and I spent the rest of the week relaxing. I ate some of the best food I've ever had while I was over there (fresh seafood!). I've decided its where I eventually settle down! Maybe in a year or so. It was exactly what I needed, and I feel replenished and ready to come back to work.

Anywho, I'm back now and ready to make some more real progress. I'm already seeing results though. I've had recent comments from two different people remarking that my face looks thinner, which is pretty nice :D. I've also been able to shop at the mall again. I never realized it, but I think I subconsiously avoided that place like the plague, because I was embarassed I couldn't use any of the clothes.

Also, hit my 30 pound milestone.

I've decided a milestone goal of mine is to hit 300 before december.

My diet has been up and down lately. I'm a little irked I haven't changed weight after a week

I'm not sure why my body suddenly decided it wanted to conserve. I eat a pretty basic diet, balancing proteins with carbs. Basically alternating fish and chicken for dinner.

I'm guessing I need to step up the frequency of my gym visits.

I'm back again after a little haitus. I lost my focus for about 2 months there, which is tough to admit, but im back on track and im finally feeling good about this. I've gone to the gym a few times this week, and was pleasently surprised that I was still able to do many of the workouts with the same intensity I was doing two months ago. I did gain back two pesky pounds, but for now I am just happy I'm focusing again, and feeling good.

Ahh the all-too-familiar ache of someone who is starting back to the gym. It's a **painful** reminder that I need to not deviate again haha.

Lets see, I opened up with some basic cardio, 20 mins on the treadmill at a brisk walking rate.

(arms)
2x12 60lb bicep
1x8 60lb bicep
1x4 50lb bicep
2x12 60lb tricep
1x20

(Legs)
2x12 80lb thighs
1x20
Same with hamstring and calf excersies.

Ive just started back on the weights, and I wasnt sure what the appropriate weight I should start on was. I felt the burn in each of my reps, but I made a system that if I can do 20 reps on my 3rd cycle, then next time I need to bump up the weight. So Ill need a few more weeks to figure that out.

Anyways, finished up altnerating between running 90 seconds and resting 90 seconds for another 20 minutes, and I called it a night. Ill be able to track progress on the treadmill pretty easily; how fast I can finish a mile, if I can run an extra 10 seconds, or shave 10 seconds off my downtime. Ill evaluate it after a month and see where I can make some changes.

Gonna start off this post with some advice to the new WLF members. If you ever need an inspiration to make the change, check out the Before and After section of this forum. The results are amazing.

Anywho, just updating some info here. As of this morning,

CW 323.3

I ate well this weekend, mainly fish and chicken. I struggled when my roomates ordered a pizza, but I strayed away and stuck with my own food. So im patting myself on the back for no cheating :p.

I'm trying to decide how I am going to handle turkey day this year. In the past, I usually give myself a day off and have at it. I'm on the fence this year though, because I feel like going overboard will just undo some past efforts. Just need to realize that taste isn't an end in itself, but a side effect of nourishing the body.

I've stepped up the treadmill exercises at work, actuallys started jogging again. I can't believe how invigorating it is! Granted I am worn out by the end of my run, but it feels AWESOME to be able to look myself in the mirror and know that I'm working towards something.

having some unreal loss lately. I think it may be a water weight thing, and I wont be surprised if it shoots back up a pound or so later, but this morning I was looking at 320.6.

Hope everyone had a nice turkey day!

321.4 after a full turkey dinner. I'm sure the number will adjust later this week. Ready to have a solid day and a nice workout tonight.

Also, im looking forward to my 320 pic for the eventual before and after thread :p I can already tell the difference from where I started, but I want to see what 310 and 300 look like. Have a great weekend everyone!

319.5 this morning. I've been in the 20's for waaaaay too long, but still, it was weird to see a 1 in that spot :p

Anyways, last night I cooked up a TON of fish I had marinating all day. Simple boneless tilapia, but it makes for a really protein rich meal, not to mention how filling it is. Other than that, just chugging along.

319.00

23 days till xmas- looking to be at 310 by the that time.

By all means its a stretch goal, but I think I can lose 3 a week pretty comfortably.

Im sure ill burn a ton of cals just walking the isles in all the dept stores lol.

Last night I cooked up some dinner for a friend that helped me move into my place. Ended up with some pasta with vodka sauce with grilled chicken, and some garlic bread. It was REALLY good, so I ended up having seconds. of everything. I wasn't really beating myself up for it, but I was a little annoyed I ate THAT many carbs in one sitting.

Anyways, jumped on the scale expecting a blip, only to find 318.8

I'm GOING to find my way to the gym tonight. I took a few days off of the gym because I tweaked a muscle in my upper back. Its annoyed enough to not want to flare it back up. But that subsided like 4 days ago, now my absence can just be attributed to laziness. So, gonna remedy that with some ol fashion sweat tonight.

Ahh nice boring weekend. Laid pretty low, and just enjoyed sleeping in. Went home for dinner, and to help the family set up the lights/tree. Everything was going swimmingly until mom brought out the meat lasagna. It was realllllly good, and I had seconds. That, combined with the garlic toast made for a carb heavy dinner, but I dont cheat that much anymore, so I figured it would be alright.

Im pretty happy the week started up. Easy to get into my routine. BUT I'm heading over to Vegas on wednesday till sat, and im dreadfully worried about my diet. Instead of healthy portions of protein at 4-5 hour intervals, I can EASILY see myself eating waffles at 4AM. Its going to be a delicate balance, I know that already. Should be interesting.

Anyways, even after my baddie dinner, my CW is 316.4

As long as Vegas doesn't completly mess me up, I should be able to hit my 310 goal by xmas.

Thanks for stopping by you two! Its nice to have your support.

Bad news.......

I woke up this morning with a full fledged 100% headcold. Ugh. Ill just have to make sure to drink more vit C and sleep a lot. I fly out on my vacation tomorrow. haha I seem to always come down with something days before a vacation. Ah well, I'm already feeling better, and I gotta hunch a full nights sleep should take care of it.

Man oh man, last night after work, I'm not sure if its the cold or what, but I had the **worst** cravings for instant gratifaction via junk food. I couldn't decide between a greasy hamburger or way too many burritos. I actually sat in my car in the parking lot just trying to take some deep breaths. After 2-3 mins, the intense feeling went away, and I decided to settle on Subway, which I'm pretty happy about in hindsight. Still, it felt strange to crave fast food that bad, especially since its been months since I've had any. May be a good idea to keep some healthy snacks nearby, just in case haha.

Anyways, scale didn't move much, but I noticed my weight swings. Itll maintain for 2-3 days then drop 2 pounds outta nowhere. Something with sodium or water intake I'd guess. Still, if its one thing I take from this experience, I know what my body needs and how to eat to feel healthy.

Until tomorrow.

Some random thoughts:

Cant believe how cold it was on my trip! Glad I bought a new jacket and some jeans. Jeans are a LITTLE snug, but ill grow into them nicely.

Late night weigh in shows 319.8, but I haven't had much of any water lately, and it seems you CAN in fact live on beer and waffles for 3 days. I dont regret it, but I am glad to get back and start cooking up some healthy food again. I was surprised how little I was needed to eat down there, but I realize its because I've totally curbed my intake on a regular basis. 3 meals a day, with portions smaller than my fist.

I had a moment where I looked in the mirror, and my face and stomach both looked a lot better than I remember. It felt really nice.

My legs feel really ancy (sp?) lately, really telling me that I needed a good run. but i've picked up some bug thats keeping me with an annoying cough. I'm a little afraid to push myself just to find myself in a coughing fit. Then another part tells me im overthinking it and to just get my ass to the gym haha.

Going to try overcompensate for these past few days by drinking a lot of water.
Flush out the system. :p

Oddly enough, when I'm sick with a cold/cough, working out actually helps me feel much better. There's a sweet spot though ... I would suggest just doing a workout that's slightly lighter than your usual and I'm betting you'll feel a lot better afterwards for at least a few hours. :)

**grumble grumble** My sleep schedule has been WAY off. Went to sleep at 5:00AM last night. Obviously, I was out of it when I woke up at 7:30 for work. (stupid vacation haha) Anyways, I should be able to fix that tonight when I go to bed at a more appropriate time.

Addie - I think youre exactly right about the running. As long as I had some water nearby, I was just fine. In fact, I think my chest cold is at its worst after I wake up, but its going away more everyday. Thanks for the advice!

Morning weigh in showed 319.6, which has me less than thrilled. Its amazing how a few nights can mess me up so bad. I certainly dont recall consuming 10500 extra calories over maintainence. Im still convinced after this week is over, im finding it will fall off pretty easy.

Lets see, had some fiber cereal with skim for breakfast, a footlong from subway for lunch, and it looks like chicken for dinner, with a little leftover asian salad as a snack somewhere in there. Will update tomorrow!

Definitely don't worry about it too much. Maybe you weren't drinking enough water/were eating too much salt. I had a couple of salt-heavy days the past couple of days and when I weighed myself this morning I was up 4.6lbs. It was a little irritating to see it, but I have confidence that the scale will be singing a different tune by my actual weigh-in on Friday. Push the water intake for a couple of days and I'm sure it'll be fine. :)
