Andy's rise to the challenge

Got back into the gym last night. Felt great to get back into my groove. Took the workout slow, but found that my knee was responding a lot better than I hoped. Hell, we even won a pick up game!

So ready to jump headfirst into my old workout regiment! Looking forward to posting some progress pictures around the 100 pound mark (16 more pounds!)

Also, I set up a mini goal of 26 pounds by July 4th.

LETS DO THIS!!!

Its May already! Jeeze! Took the month of april a bit too easy, so I'm taking advantage of the new month to really kick the effort up a notch! Came in this morning at 265.6. Ready to say goodbye to this tier and the accompanying lovehandles :p

Have a strong week everyone!

Hey, I can't believe it's May either. The time just flew by and I wasted a lot of time!

I hope you've had a better run at things! I'm glad to see everyone again. Good luck with your mini goal! You can do it!!

Worked out hard today. Felt nice to get a sweat going again haha. I can tell I lost a little endurance with running, but I also think my body could remember in about a weeks time if I kept up at it.

Stepping on the scale today, and FINNNNAAAALLLLY had my whoosh moment. I'd started to get worried about my plateau, but its long gone history now. Came in at 262.2, which is exactly at the 90 pound mark. SO LONG, hope I never see it again! In fact, I know its gone for good :D

Next 10 pounds is going to be a freaking milestone. Cant wait to get there. Lets see, if I can get a nice clean 2lb a week routine rolling again, then I should be there by mid june. Then any extra I lose is just icing in time for the 4th of july :D

BTW, its may here, and its already cresting 100 degrees F. That sucks. Looks like its back to morning or night walks again :p

Woot! Go Andy!!! 90 pounds is awesome!

Glad to see you hitting the workouts again. Hope the knee is back to 100% again. Keep it up and the endurance will be back in no time.

Heh, it's May here and we had snow last Friday! All day long too, with a high of 34. Then Saturday was 70 degrees and sunny... MN is so weird.

Thanks for coming by! Do you think we can just mesh our climates so it'll be around 70°? And maybe have pina coladas with little umbrellas? o_O

I think I just need to move somewhere where its spring weather 9 months out of the year! :p

90lbs is so good--You're a true inspriation!

Thanks :D :D

It's taken me a decently long time to achieve and I certainly had a lot of weight to lose, but I can confidently say its the best decision I made in my life. Glad I finally STUCK with it haha. Anyways, I appreciate the compliment! :biggrinjester:

Nice work Andy!

I have been reading your diary here for a while, and just signed up today for the sight. I am down to 310 from about 380, and I love reading about your journey. keep it up, as will I!!!!!!

Thanks for coming by and showing support Lane! Great job on your 70 lbs so far! Huge progress!

Just another hohum day of managing intake. Managed to do really good though, so I can be happy with that. Gonna work on my legs tonight, and hopefully get some solid cardio in.

I'm realizing that I am going a bit off course every weekend, and I think its one of those 3 steps forward 2 steps back situations. Granted, I think I may feel a little guilty because I overdid the Mexican food for mothers day, but nonetheless its the next challenge in my journey. So this weekend, plan on clean dinners, and keeping the alcohol to a moderate level. That combined with a little activity should help get me where I want to be. Summer is coming on fast, and it really sucks to be fat when its over 100° LOL. Have a great day everyone!

Hit the gym last night. Felt fantastic. Worked my legs out, and I felt my knee grinding a bit. The ortho said it was common, which sounds weird, but that's how it is. It certainly felt stronger, so that's a good sign. Ill give it another month and see how that's feeling.

Stuck to food plan well. Water too. Had nice weigh in this morning. 262.6 Happy to get that moving again!

Chest and back tonight :( My weakest group of muscles. They're only going to get stronger if I suck it up and start incorporating them into my gym time.

Will update tomorrow. Lift strong!

Way to keep the weight loss steady Andy! You are doing it the right way! Very inspirational.

I think you are going to win our BL challenge! I gotta feeling!

Hey all! Hope everyone had an awesome weekend! Hit a new low this weekend. WAY low. 258.6 low! Only downside is I'm back up to 261.2 as of this morning. Curse you Sunday dinners! Hoping my water will flush some of that delicious sodium out LOL.

Anyways, gonna hit the gym hard this evening for my BL weigh in tomorrow. Got some stiff competition there, so I need really sweat tonight!

Morning everybody! Only small update today. Same fighting the same old fight haha. Feeling like I started this week off correctly. Staying right on track with food, and I even got in some gym time :D Going to make it a focus this week to dedicate more time there. I want May to be a BIG month! Well, big loss anyways.

Will update later this evening with some gym results.

I'm glad you're still going! I find it so hard to stay on track when there's distractions in my life. If I can focus on weight loss I do great, but as soon as I'm interrupted by something that makes me stop my exercising then I just struggle to start again, it's crazy!

So I'm happy that you're still at it!

Still doing good this week? That's awesome you are on track with food - that's most important! I'm glad your injury isn't stopping you from going back strong - you took the needed rest and now you can carry on! Keep it up Andy!

Thanks for coming by you two. Its really nice to have people cheering you along!

Funny story. I brought my healthy protein lunch to work with the full intention to stay on track. Then had a cute coworker ask me to lunch, so that went out the window real quick. LOL. Still tried to eat healthy, but the point is it was a lot more than I budgeted for. So played catch-up the rest of the day, and ended up where I wanted

Went to the gym earlier than usual, and used the time well. Got an hour of cardio in to compensate for lunch, and then went to town on the weight racks. Did my chest and back, which is my weakest group of muscles. Feels wonderful the day after. I had a moment yesterday where I genuinely felt comfortable at the gym. Like I was just another face. Sounds weird, but it used to make me feel really uncomfortable to be really overweight in a gym, and its why I used to prefer early mornings or late nights. Well, I'm over that now. :)

Have a strong weekend everyone! Zomg lost finale Sunday BTW!

Hi Andi, this is my first day on this forum, and eventhough I lost all my
unwanted body fat many years ago, I decided to join this forum to talk
to people that are going through what I went through when there were
no forums, and no one to help except the dieticians and the trainers in the
gyms. I want to say that weight training and cardio are 50% of the thing
that brings long term success, with proper nutrition, obviously being the
other half. You are on your way toward reaching your goal, and obvioulsy
you will make it, especially with your positive attitude, and the realization
how important it is to be as healthy as possible.

What are the biggest difficulties that you are experiencing in your weight loss
journey, and what do you think you could/should be doing differently?
