I hope that everyone is doing well.

Well I actually had good days on both Saturday and Sunday. I am not sure how much Saturday counts but I will itemise Saturday as we are going away next weekend and I anticipate having some less good days later in the week.

2.5 litres of water is more than sufficient water for my weight. Rounding up from my start weight we get 142 pounds which translates to 71 fluid ounces.
71 * 29.5735 = 2099.72ml this is 2.1 litres. I cannot be bothered to measure so I have 2.5 litres of water every day.

Just noticed that when I lose some more weight and get down to 135 pounds - I can cut my water consumption down to 2 litres and still be healthy :hurray: That is not going to happen this week - but hopefully will be quite soon!


Saturday: 24/05/08

For the past 15 months I have done comparitively little housework as I have turned my weight loss project into effectively a full time job. After over twenty years of extreme morbid obesity I suddenly decided to do whatever it took to sort it out.

195.8/2= 97.9 ounces

multiply by 30 for mls = 2.9 litres of water to drink

Think I can manage that!
 
Morning team! How was everyone's first day?

I did good with the 30 min of exercise, but my food intake was too little.

I got my water in, all 102 oz. - peed all day! :ack2: And then as far as the food for the day (it will sound strange..lol)...

3 slices of American Cheese
3 Hard Sourdough Pretzels
6 Baby Gerkins (no sugar added)

Went to a friend's house for dinner - had:

Bruschetta Appetizer (3 pieces) - consists of tomato, onion, garlic and provolone cheese, all piled on a little slice of bruschetta - they are about 3 inches in size.

Veggie Sandwich (don't know the technical term for it - but it was AWESOME!)

The vegetables on it were eggplant, red peppers, zucchini, onion, tomato. Then there was homemade pesto all piled on Frescatta bread. It was delish!


Now, the part where I didn't do well was the drinking. I'm not usually a beer drinker. Hate it actually. But, last night - my girlfriend had Corona w/Lime and I thought "well, that does sound nice after a hectic week". Well, one turned into 8 and let's just say I was loopy! :beerchug:

I don't even want to think of how many calories I consumed - so I'm very disappointed in that aspect. However, its not an every day thing - and won't be happening again any time soon!


 
Dont worry Lori - little slip-ups like that happen to us all. I normally exercise firm control over my food - but I know that next weekend I will have a couple of days when I will eat things that I would never normally eat.

When you are invited to eat at someone else's house you have the choice of eating whatever you are given and looking happy or turning into the guest from Hell.

If you enjoy it - count it as a bonus. We may want to lose weight - but we dont want to lose our friends. It is not like we do it all the time.

It certainly sounds like you had an enjoyable night out.
 
Yeah, I try to relax about having drinks on occasions. And when I do want to drink, I don't limit it, I go according to how I feel. It has been fine thus far!

I have drank 3 750ml bottles, so that's 2 litres. Busy on my fourth and then I'll drink a few more glasses at home this evening.

Brought a tuna, lettuce, onion, cucumber and tomato salad for lunch... plus 2 apples (I forgot the crackers, so gonna eat some cereal I have at work too... like one portion).

Today I am staring to train for my 10km race in October.

I am doing the Couch to 5k plan first, so today will be walking/ jogging and tomorrow strength training.

I am going to aim for 3x 20-30min walk/jog/runs per week, and 2x full body toning and resistance training.

On top of this I have 2 hour long belly dance classes a week (those are the days I will strength train).

I feel a bit ambitious in attempting this new routine, but I am giving it my all and waiting eagerly for results.

I am part of a weight loss club in South Africa called Weigh-Less. I have a weekly weigh-in on Tuesday nights. I have listed my current weight as what it was last Tuesday. For this Friday's weigh-in for this challenge, I'll use Tuesday's numbers.

Here's hoping my birthday weekend was not too rough on the waistline. If I remain the same I will be satisfied. A loss would be a bonus, and a gain would be a motivator!
 
My yesterday was nothing to write home about. I told myself going into this weekend that I would not be too worried about food &/or exercise since it is a holiday.

Played golf yesterday...that count as exercise?:)
Did yard work and was stripping an old dresser to refinish for my unborn child.:D

Really did not write down food or water intake but trust me- yesterday was not one of my best.
Today this begins...

WTG with the running Anke. I have committed to a half marathon in September.. Unfortunately I am recoveing from a lingering groin injury and have not been able to run in a week or so.
All I can say is take it slow!.

1 portion cereal
1/2 cup 2% low fat milk

SUPPER -

1/2 cup pasta
1 portion lean beef mince
2 portions frozen veg

EXERCISE - 30 mins (jog/walk/stretch)

3 litres done!

Happy Birthday for yesterday Anke! I turned 20 6 weeks ago and really want to be healthy n happy with my weight for my 21st too! That belly dancing class sounds really fun!
Hi Margaret! Congratulations on the weight loss so far, you're amazing, n over 11 miles walked per day! I was thinking about buying a pedometer, do you recommend them?

My Sunday went quite well, I was in work for 9 hours so had less time to think about food or being hungry!
Exercise: 30 mins cycling
2.5 litres water: done! And Lori, I had the regular trips to the loo thing aswell! lol

breakfast: bowl of cereal and skimmed milk
snack: apple and light babybell cheese
lunch: lettuce, tomato and peppers salad with veggie "chicken" pieces
snack: teaspoon peanut butter
dinner: 2 veggie burgers, peas and broccoli
snack: carrots n hummus

Today (monday)
Exercise: 1 hour and 30mins (30 mins jogging, 10 mins on trampette and at least 90 mins doing an aerobic exercise dvd)
2.5 litres water: done!

(Ankebuzz - I may steal your idea and put a post up here at the beginning of the day and then just come back and edit it with what I ate. - I was sitting here trying to remember what I've eaten all day and it makes it easier if I keep track as I go along)

Well..this will be my Tuesday post -

I've already gotten in 1 bottle of water (I have to drink a little over 6/day to hit my 102 oz.)

Got my exercise in this morning - 15 in walk with the dogs and then 30 min workout tape (the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred)

Haven't eaten anything yet, so I'll have to update that when I get home from work - after a long weekend its back to the grindstone! :smash:
