Weight-Loss 6 Week New Year's Goal Challenge

Can I join too? I need to lose 30 pounds and this seems like the perfect way to start it. Any diet in particular we need to follow? Also, I just moved to a new place and they have a fitness center here, and best of all IT'S FREE YAY!!! well good luck everyone and let me know who my partner is going to be please, this is exciting ;)
 
I would love to join this challenge! So our first weigh in day will be tomorrow the 6th correct? Any team will be fine with me thanks:)

Thanks all for joining so far and I will put you on your desired team where requested. Thanks to those with no preference so we can make the teams even. But I have been put on teams before where my friends were all on other teams and I figured its more fun to duke it out with your friends on your team.

First weigh in will be on Tuesday.

No particular eating plan is necessary, but you MUST have your own specific thought out plan. Either you are counting calories or you are eating only certain types of foods or following some food plan of some sort (e.g eating only 3 healthy meals and 2 healthy snacks or something like that). We all know when we're having a good diet day and when we're binging or eating too much unhealthy or fattening stuff. So yes, there is some self-monitoring and honor system here but we're all here to reach our goals so if we fudge and aren't honest with ourselves, we will lose out in the end. Again, having one unhealthy snack in a day wont derail our diet or getting our points for the day. Like today, I had some Smart Food popcorn BUT I rationed out one exact portion and it totally worked with my calories for the day. Had I ate that popcorn indiscriminately without monitoring my intake or eating that as my lunch (like I did the day after xmas where I ate 3 meals that added up to only 1600 calories but each meal consisted of a cupcake or other snack food), such behavor would not be deserving of points and we will need to fess up. I am talking so much smack but I'm the first one to throw my plans to the wind and dig in to my desired food. Hence why I'm hoping this challenge will keep me in line.

I'm in too! The Vegas challenge was great, kept me workin, so I'm down :) Put me with whichever team is easiest for ya!

Basic plan... 3200 calories max (I'm 6'8"). Exercise? In the bag!!

LOL. I love all the competitive spirit! Just what we need to turn us chubbettes and chubbies into wonderous creatures :).

I was trying to keep the challenge flexible enough to fit in with your own current plan and hope everyone is OK with the format. Let me know if you have any ideas. Anyone interested in adding some bonuses? Maybe not for every week but some weeks we could do something hated yet healthy like in some of the other challenges to get extra points.

Anyway, thanks to everyone that joined. I will post the teams tomorrow morning. Does anyone with good math/spreadsheet skills want to volunteer to be team captain (one for each team) and be chief motivator and report in the totals for your team? Lawyers aren't exactly known for their math skills.. LOL
 
Is it a smack talking challenege ? Or is everyone just getting their game faces on, lol.I have no game face...HA
