130's Club

138 today

I'm back to where I was end of August and am happy.. It is a while since i was down to 62 ish kilos.

I'm hoping to be in the 61s next week. Then only 3kgms off my goal weight.

Thanks for the reply:seeya:
But what is exactly strength training? Is it exercising in the gym? or is it someting like walking, running?

Hi, in my case strength training means 5-10 lb weights (dumbbells), I do a Claudia Schiffer workout for the arms that is excellent. It helped me learn the various exercises and now and then I might do a few without using the video.

Anyway, currently what I've found is that long cardio works best for me. I have left strength training aside for now and will KISS (keep it simple stupid hehe) with doing 90 minute cardio sessions. I do the Walk Away the Pounds 4 mile video, it's one hour so I play it once and the I replay up to the second mile so that I'm doing 90 minutes. It works great!

Still here. My weight refuses to budge lower than 132 lbs. :toetap05:I am doing all kinds of things to challenge myself and work extra hard to break this plateau. Will know if it is actually working this week. It has been really nice to be in the 130s club, but I also wanna see what its like down at the 120 lbs club.

still here and have gone up :(

137.0 lbs

been eating bad carbs (white bread and cookies and such), i have kept exercising (watp) hopefully the scale goes down tomorrow

im unemployed atm and getting the right food to do this is hard, lets see what happens, weight's been hovering around late 130s forever

also i have a wedding to attend on the 24th so thats one week, idk have to set a mini goal for that but probably wont be able to go lower than 134.x

Hello GreenteaRocks & Juni, I know this is the obvious, but are you counting your calories?

GreenTeaRocks:

Right now I am low on funds too and have all my "goodies" left over, basically I am going to be living off of them for some time though. BUT if I were to buy some veggies over "goodies" it would be much cheaper. The other day I bought 3 heads of Romaine Lettuce for $2.94, a huge pack of Spinach for $4.98, A head of Califlower for $2.99, 4 heads of Broccoli for $3.36....ect.

Maybe when you get really low on foods & aren't able to buy, you could always try checking into your local Food Bank, sometimes they send junk through there too, but you can tell them if you need certain foods, or if you have health issues....:)

Juni:

:waving:, have you switched up your workout routine? Do you watch your sodium intake? 2400mg/day. Do you measure your foods pretty closely? Weight Scale, measuring spoons, measuring cups? (sometimes a little bit more without knowing it can be an extra 25 cals, and an extra bit here and there can really add up) How much water do you drink? Could try more or less. If you do count your cals, have you been eating at one amount only? Try eating more or less, or everyday confuse your body by eating more or less than the day previously.

Thanks! Frozen broccoli has been a lifesaver, got a 2 lb really cheap! I don't think there are any food banks where I live but I'm going to check.

135.4 this morning

I looked back at the posts in this thread and there's one I wrote in the summer of 2008, and I was at 137 :( so it's been over a year and I'm still in the 130s.

It's been a very hard year emotionally and financially, and now I'm unemployed at least until December (was unemployed before that but now I've not been doing anything since I'm studying for an important exam). I guess I should be happy that I have at least maintained.

So..today I did WATP 4 mile challenge twice, that's 2 hrs of walking. Since my schedule is more flexible atm I will use this in my favor, long cardio is what has always given me the best results. I'm hoping for 134.x tomorrow..lets see :D

I would like to ask: When you lose weight your waist gets thinner? And for a slim person how many inches sould be his waist?

Wow i can't beleive i can post in this thread now
I was ill last week and lost 5lb which has brought me into the 130's.
137 now. i am so amazed. i met someone the other day an old neighbour said hello and she was lookin at me blank, i was like " you dont know me do you?" ive changed that much in past 2 years that she didnt even recognise me, she felt so bad and was so amazed, Was an amazing confidence boost :)
I am not trying to lose anymore weight just tone up but i just felt the need to post in here just because i can :)

Hi Running Girl,

Sorry didn't see your msg before this.

I am doing all the right things, I think. I measure my food, count calories, workout, drink at least 3 litres of water, sleep 8 hrs, most food I eat has very little salt (not a big fan). I am a little frustrated as it has been over 4 weeks and I am still ranging between 132-134lbs and I was 140lbs to begin with when I started eating well and exercising. So I have hit a plateau after losing 6lbs? That could not be possible, could it? Also for the past week or so I have been very closely monitoring my refined sugar intake (my weakness).

However, just read Steve's sticky on starvation, and I think I have figured out what I am doing wrong (would appreciate your inputs). If i want to lose 2lbs a week, I am allowed 1700cal every day. At 5ft3inches. I was looking through my fitday.com calorie average for the last month and it tells me that it is 1200plus cal. I don't remember a time when I have reached 1700cal. I think that is the problem. I am eating too little!!!! This is crazy. I know my daily food intake is carbs heavy (really trying to work on lowering it), I eat veggies everyday and I may not eat fish or chicken everyday but I do eat about 70g of protein everyday (on average). If I want to up my calories, i really have to eat more fruits and veggies (which is fine, as I love 'em).

Right now I am doing the c25k program with yoga. I walk a lot and am pretty active throughout the day (stairs, walking, what have u).

Any inputs?

Thanks so much.

Hello Juni,

I am no expert, all I can say is try to slowly increase your daily intake. You may or may not gain a little bit back at first, and than you will start to decrease again.

I know it's a weird thing, eat more, lose weight, but it works.

{healthy fats (fish, fish oil, flax, olive oil, nuts, avacados, etc) you probably picked up on this info already.

A standard split of macro nutrients is 40/30/30 ... that's 40% carbs, 30% protein, and 30% healthy fats. }

134.2 this morning!!

For a while now I've thought of 135-136 as a 'slim' number. Since I had reached nearly 170 lbs and once I dropped below 140 everyone would comment on how 'slim' I looked I've unconsciously given 135-136 a positive meaning. But to get past these numbers I have to realize that this is not my best weight. For my height the tables say I shouldn't go above 134 lbs. And I have to agree. I still have a lot to work on for example, my thighs, my saddlebags, my arms, and my stomach can be much better. So I have to start thinking of 130s as fat numbers so I can move faster to the 120s.

The 130s are intolerable, as much as I have improved when compared to a 163, I am still fat. I have a lot of work to do still. I'm hoping to see 129.x during the next weeks and set the 130s as my new fat number, never to be reached again.

So proud of myself! My mom made a cake for her 4H kids and there are some leftovers but I didn't have any!

Hoping to see a 133.x tomorrow. However I only did 1 hr of WATP today and had some white rice. Going to bed early though so hope that helps.

133.6! :D

that was this morning (yesterday morning more like)

anyway, didnt exercise today, didnt eat much but probably ate more than i did yesterday

Oh, good luck! I am at 138 now, so I've probably got another couple of months before I can get out. Oh, I miss those 120s!
