Your thoughts on 'smart ones' and 'healthy choice' meals.

Just wondering on your thoughts on low calorie microwavable stuff like 'smart ones' and 'healthy choice'. I am currently eating 4-6 times per day and usually have one or two per day. Nothing looks bad (except for high sodium), but was wondering if there is more too it.

My diet usually consists of..

7:30 Oat/eggwhite pancakes with honey.
10:30 Smart one or Healthy Choice
2:30 Drained Tuna in Water with Rice or Sweet potatoe
4:30 Smart One or healthy Choice
7:00 Grilled Chicken or Samon with vegatables or Rice.

I am not taking Protein shakes simply because I am on the lose 70 pounds and keep/build muscle on the way down. I would like to get a good amount of protein, but pretty low on the calories.

I do realize I need to step up the fruits here as well. lol

This has "what" to do with working out in the weight room. I think this would be more appropriate in the nutrition section.

Lighten up Busyman....this is JUST a forumn. It's not under nutrition...big deal.

JungleB. I'm not a nutritionist however I do not go anywhere near frozen meals. They are usually high in sodium and other preservatives. Plus I do not microwave anything because of personal choice. I always choose fresh foods that you have to make yourself even if it is more time consuming.

You're right, Im sorry, lets just get rid of all the categories and have one big forum. Why have specific topics, AND descriptions for those topics.
If people paid more attention to what they are doing, things would be a lot better everywhere.
It wasnt a direct thrash at junglebook, you're not the only one who does it.

hmmm

The topic isn't thrash my name either.

Mod, please move this topic for me so the forum cops will leave me be.

Thanks.

After all that, I will answer your question. Stay away from processed foods all together. They may be "healthy" choice or whatever, but if you want to get serious, stay away. Protein shakes are not something you need to avoid. You can easily get 150 calories, low carbs/fats, and a good amount of protein. Thats what you want to eat. Try making yourself chicken salads, or turkey sandwiches to eat during the day. You can also check the healthy recipe section for some good stuff.
