Weight-Loss Your Grocery Lists?

Weight-Loss
Since I do most of the cooking in the house, I go to the store almost every day. I buy what looks the freshest, and make a meal from that. Generally, dinners consist of a form of protein (fish, poultry, lean beef), veggies, and carbs (whole wheat noodles, brown rice, lentils).

THis is such a great post! A real eye opener!

i tend to go to the supermarket about twice a week and spend far too much money. heres what i buy, with some extras thrown in for the others.
lettuce, cucumber, green onions, onions, potatoes (+ some bigguns for baking), peppers, mushrooms, berries (if there on offer), apples, oranges,
+ any other fruit/ veg thats on offer. prawns, tuna, white fish, tinned oily fish, bag of chicken fillets, frozen corn, carrots, peppers, mushrooms, peas, cauliflower, w/meal rice and pasta, soup, tomato based pasta sauce in a jar, wholegrain bread/bagels/pitta, low fat hummous mini pots :) , baked crisps, >70% dark choc, a couple of healthy type ready meals, cottage cheese 1% fat, yoghurts/lf desserts.
i dont buy all that everytime. i do a big shop on payday and top up as necessary. on top of that i tend to get pork/bacon, lean mince, eggs, small selection of crisps/biscuits type stuff, juice , etc, etc + packed lunch stuff for the kids slim

I'm a student, 17 and live with my parents so they buy the basics (milk, bread, eggs, etc), but for the things I like to eat, I buy myself.

Pineapple chunk packs
Fruit snack packs
Popcorn
Peppers, onions, sweet corn and fajitas
Low calorie high fibre bread
Angel Delight (rare pudding treat)

I just went yesterday. I tend to shop a couple times a week because I don't really like my fruit to be too ripe, I have only two hands to carry the groceries back, and I'm weird and enjoy going down the isles.

I got:
carrots
tomatos
bananas
mushrooms
oranges
a red onion
oatmeal
3 one litre soy milks
some cheap coffee as I have an unbelievable amount of work to do for uni!

I go shopping once a week for regular shopping but usually have to go twice more per week for odds and ends that I forgot. Here are a few staples that I get (family of 4)

Chicken breast, boneless & skinless bulk bag
fruits: bananas, strawberries, grapes, pears, etc.
veggies: (fresh or frozen) brocolli, green beans, lettuce, tomatoe, cucumber, bell pepper, celery, corn and a bag of new potatoes
Ground turkey and sometimes extra lean ground beef
powder gravy packs (easy flavor to gravy without a rue)
eggs
double fiber wheat bread
skim milk
2% grated cheese
Kashi TLC crackers, ranch and cheese flavors
Fiber One peanut butter bars <-----LOVE these
Cereal - besides what the kids pick, I like Life cereal
Whole grain Oatmeal

omega 3 eggs

Someone asked about omega 3 eggs. Usually this is where they've fed the chicken flax seed meal so the omega 3 fatty acids come through in the eggs. these are the good fats that are good for depression, obesity, heart disease and high blood pressure.

I used to have my own chickens and fed them flax seed meal.

I buy the stables in my diet organic. Fish(wild alaskan caught),eggs, pastas, veggies, Oatmeal, and frozen fruit are likely my biggest purchases.

Lol, I think I my be the only person in this thread that does not buy milk...
