Your favorite workout music.....let us know

Linkin Park, Metalica, Breaking Benjamin, Earshot, and Evenescence for cardio and weights, then when I'm stretching I'll listen to some Celtic music, or movie soundtracks like LOTR, Pirates of the Carribean, The Passion, so on and so forth.

For cardio I always listen to something I can "zone out" on, usually Bob Marley, Tool or Mars Volta.

For lifting I usually listen to hiphop [Talib Kweli, Mod def, Kayne West, Roots, Jurassic5, eta] or Hardore/punk [Hatebreed, Dillinger Escape Plan, Raised Fist, Walls of Jericho, Strung Out, Face to Face,H2O]

I normally listen to a bit of dance type music when doing weights, as it gives you a good beat in order to follw when doing your reps.
When i do cardio i listen to some heavy stuff such as ramstein, metallica, opeth etc to psych me up, then i put on some more mellow stuff to get into a groove- motown, soul stuff.

This is my work out music:
AC/DC
Metallica
Godsmack
Black Sabbath
Judas Priest
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Van Halen
Shinedown
Nine Inch Nails
Korn

I usually just turn up the radio I keep in my garage which is stuck on classic rock - it's good for an all-around-throughout-the-day kinda vibe. But oddly enough, I get the best workout listening to Dave Mathews Band, don't ask me why.

I only listen to music when I'm doing HIIT on the treadmill - either a really awesome Phish show, or a really funky Dead show.

When I'm on the recumbent bike, I play Tetris on my GameBoy.

I never weight lift listening to music. Cardio, is a different story, much different. I like classic rock, such as the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Hendrix, Clapton, etc

I also listen to Cuban music. Great latin melodies and complex rhythms help a lot when your riding a boring ass bike. Classical music can be great as well.

me too, its distracting. i use to have the radio on but havent in awhile, allows me to focus better and get a more intense workout

just the opposite of the majority, LOL

distraction is the best thing about it, ill just lift with my mind on the music
Me too, thats why I like longer more drawn out songs that I can get lost in like Tool or Dream Theater.

lol i was watching rocky, and that got me really pumped for a workout. rocky music is really...whats the word im looking for (looking in theosaurus) ahh its invigorating!! yeah...you know what im trying to get at though. anyway anybody into any hiphop, sage francis has been my new workout music lately

cant go wrong listening to some hip hop while pumping. especially if its got a lot of good cursing in it, and good beats. nice hard bassline will get you in a rhythm to pump heavy weights.

I listened to a puerto rican salsa band once - it was great - fast paced, passionate, strong. Different from the typical.

I really like dance music to work out to. Ministry of Sound albums are cool. They make me wanna dance along on the treadmill. I love all the new tracks for 2005, they are also on tv all the time so I also dance in my bedroom. Anything with a funky beat makes me happy. ;)

It's good to see that the majority listens to Metal! Oddly, I've never tried it with working our but surely headbanging alone is a workout :D

I got a really good cd from a friend who listens to electronic music a while back. It's called Global Underground - Departures. It's really uplifting and makes you want to dance. I don't generally listen to dance music but this stuff is great.
