Your cell phone

Jeez, I would love to join you geeks but my ancient brick mobile phone is all I got I'm afraid.

You're not gonna believe this, but after only having it for 2 weeks, I dropped my iphone in the toilet. lmao .. no I was NOT using it at the time. I have had so many cell phones and not ONCE have I ever dropped one in water, and it had to be the iphone. I was running in to help my 3 year old, and it shot out of my hand and plopped right down into the water. I am devastated! We have an appt at the apple store to see if we're eligible for the $199 replacement. ARGH!

Brace yourself.....iPhones have water sensors, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they don't *normally* cover that...:(

You can tell if it's been tripped by looking in the head jack plug, and if it is pink (I think) down there it's been tripped. There is another one in the dock.

When you go in, be nice, explain what happened, and keep your fingers crossed. If you have a nice person, they may replace it.....I have heard of a few people getting them replaced.....

Oh yea this is a program for things not covered in the warranty. It all depends on the phone too, that's why you have to make an appointment so they can check it all out and determine what they can use. Then you get either a new or refurb (most likely refurb) for $200. I'll take it, ya know!!!

It's called out of warranty service:

well first try and see what they say, they may just replace it for free if you get someone nice....:D

GOOD NEWS! If you're a dummy like me and drop your iphone into the potty, you just need to make an appointment at an Apple store, and take in your phone. They will look at it and give you a replacement for $199!! I got my new one, woot woot! Ahhh, so relieved, lol.

Yeah, you got your new phone! SO sorry you dropped it, but glad you got a replacement! It's such a fun phone! :)

Having been around iphones for the last few years, I can say I absolutely hate the virtual keyboard on it...hate hate hate it. That and it's mandatory that you get the iphone package which is more expensive than the other data packages. And! You can't get a stupid warranty on the iphone.

In 6 months, the contract with AT&T will be up and I foresee a lot of other companies coming out with much cheaper iphone data packages. What I do like about the iphone is the screen size for watching videos.

Currently I'm in love with the palmpre but since I'm not on Sprint, no go. And I'm not going to Sprint for a dumb phone when I get a sweet discount with AT&T for being a teacher.

Sooooo...I'll stick with my Blackberry for now. Lovez me my Blackberry.

the keyboard? I find it easier to use than the real ones. The keys are bigger and it enlarges them so you know what key you are striking. All those tiny buttons on my old phones drove me crazy! Even the BB. I can't work my hubbys BB to save my life! lol They warranty my old AT&T phone either. If it reaches a certain pice point they won't warranty it.

However, apple *does* cover their product for any problems that are mechanical. I've seen them cover the screens when people have dropped them. There is a warranty of a year, and you can buy apple warranty to cover it for longer. Amazingly they are actually better at taking care of anything issues that may arise than I have seen for most other phones.

I saw the palm pre, but I will always *love* my iPhone. I have never used a phone as much as I do my iPhone...... :D
