You favourite fitness Gadget?

Hi,

Scuse the noobie post but I am would like to know if there are any gadgets out there that you feel have improved your workouts in a significant way?

All the Best,

Mark

My feet work well. I use them everyday and havent broke one yet. My arms also allow me to lift more weight than I would be able to without.

Garmin Forerunner 305

You have the 305 with the cadence sensor? I was looking at the 305 and the 705, but while the 305 is not cheap, at $650 (I am assuming this is the version with the cycling functions) the 705 is about half that of the bike itself. The only difference that I see, besides the color screen, is it has the "high sensitivty" reciever.

The greatest "internal" fitness gadget in the world, is being the world champion of getting yourself to train and diet persistantly and consistently.

We do not want a silver or bronze.

We stand on the podium with our goal conquered and earn the gold medal.

Nothing else is acceptable.

There are no questions.....there is no doubt.

Wear the damn gold. You are the number one gadget in the world.

Best wishes

Ha QFT Mr Chillen. You reminded me of a Timberland commercial I saw during the games last night. I personally think Timberland has gone to crap. Still the commericial was one of those feel good commericals that talked about our "personal" podiums. Even though you are absolutely correct ... I still like my electronic doo-dads ... especially when they come with a backlit map ;)

The 305 is about $200-300 depending where you get it. I got it at costco for about $170. I don't know how much more the the cadence sensor costs. I do have the HR monitor though...I use mine for running so I don't need the sensor

If you are just starting out, a heart rate monitor.

a heart rate monitor will allow you to tailor your workouts to your fitness level. I think they improve workout efficiency by allowing you to stay within target intensities so you can meet goals.

I use a Polar F6 HRM.

I would also have to add in my personal blender (the magic bullet). I can sometimes throw together some healthy foods and make some liquid contraptions---some good, lol, and some not so good. A little bit of milk, NPB, ice, Banana, and some oatmeal......hmmm.........good shiaat. :)

Just dont remove the banana, and replace it with chicken....not so good.

Best wishes,

How many ounces does your Bullet hold? I need a new blender as mine is small and only holds about 18-20 ounces. I need something with about 24 ounces but don't want a fullsize blender.

Its about 20 ounces, Evo.

Here is the link to the magic bullet site so you can see what all comes with the package.

They are having a sale right now: You get 2 magic bullet systems for 99.00 (I got one at wal-mart for 69.00, two years ago.)

I have had mine for 2 years and like it. Haven't had any problems thus far. It is quite a diverse product and doesnt take up that much space (other than cupboard space for the other items that come with it).

Best wishes,

Chillen

I think you can pick up the bullet online for around $40. I bought mine at Walgreens awhile back for $50. I got rid of it though for a regular blender because the Bullet couldnt do anything besides make a protein shake.

Everyone loves them, but just had no use for its small liquid capacity and inability to process vegetables.

My power rack. Years ago, I had taken two 2x6's, cemented them into two 5 gallon buckets and then cut V grooves into the tops of them to be able to get under the bar for squats. Then I would squat inbetween saw horses. Also had to go do chins hanging from the carport outside. So I love my power rack!!!!

I get super pumped when I know that my workout calls for a BOSU ball, Love that little dome :)

Agreed, I love my Bosu, the workouts are so much fun!

As for other gadgets... my iPod helps me out. I downloaded those Nike running mixes, music with a voice cheering you on or instructing you in interval training and stuff, some of them are pretty fun.

I'll check online and at Walgreens if they still have them. I have a food processor for blending vegetables and a blender. Since the Bullet carries 20 ounces would be perfect for the morning breakfast routine.

hahahahaha...I just realized that there is another fun toy called the Bullet. And it could be fitness related. But that's another subect all together.
