work in progress...

I did. One serving of it and some spinich salad w/bananas and craisins, slice of bread plain, and a 230 cal yogurt for a snack. I hope to get more exercise this evening. I am a little worried about work tomorrow. how do I go easy on the snacks at break and make them healthier? Sometimes I bring my own (fruit usually) but then I eat whatever is there anyway. I am kinda afraid to admit I am watching what I eat because some people, if they see you order a salad, freak out! One of my 4 coworkers doesn't eat the snacks either, but we wouldn't give her a hard time because she is an older elementry teacher. Is there anyway to politely refuse the crackers, cookies, etc. that people bring? tips would be very helpful.
 
ya, I hope that works. I rode on the tandem w/dad for over 10 miles and ate supper: about 1/2 c dried fruit and a tuna, mustard, pickles, and spinich sandwhich. Long day tomorrow-work and a v-ball thing-
 
Ya, I enjoyed it. I ate healthy on monday and Tuesday was definatly an off day. I was kinda grumpy. Today I had grapenuts, dried fruit, and skim milk. snack-a little popcorn lunch-a turkey subway and a little bit of corn chips snack-about a serving of licorice and an orange supper-nuked grilled cheese sandwich. Tomorrow I start delivering over twice as many papers as I do now. CB, my bro, left for college. I am a little disappointed to see him go. He'll do fine-he's loves history, reading and sudokus. My neighbor left too and she was a really good friend, it'll be different. I hung out w/her at least 2 times a week. I hope to eat better than today tomorrow.

Tonight will be light! I don't know what it is, but I love eating after work. How come I do so well for breakfast and go out of control at lunch?
Today I did 2 routes for my first time. I delivered 80+ papers in 65 min. The lady who brings them to town was late (5:50) and I had to work alone for 50 min to get my 40 hrs grrr...that lady needs to hurry up! Anyhow, I am going to sign up for the 18mile "race" (walk for me) now. Thanks for the support!

You get hungry after eating breakfast and working, that you think you must "stuff" yourself at lunch. I've found that's not true. I can be hungry and eat lunch and I can feel full w/out stuffing myself. Sometimes I have a dessert after lunch and sometimes I don't.

IMO, If you are going to have that certain meal, maybe try one bowl of spaghetti, 1 piece of bread w/margarine and milk. Wait little bit then if you want the pudding, then go ahead and eat it, but don't eat it because it is there.
 
i do that sometimes because it takes me an hour to an hour and a half to drive all the way home and I'm famished once I get there after picking up the kids n all then unloading the car and getting the kids whatever they want right when we walk in the door.

But anyway! I know what u mean! b/c i try to stop myself and then i end up saying oh its okay...but then i feel miserable afterwards and guilty....so just do what She said haha! b/c its true if you eat a normal sized portion and then make yourself wait a while...do something fold laundry or take a walk or watch a TV show SOMETHING for at least 20 minutes. then you will know if you REALLY want that extra bread or pudding. But try to stay away from more bread if at all possible.

Pardon me for butting in but you need to balance your diet up with some more protien. Cut some of the carb calories and add some from chicken, beef, pork or other sources such as soy whey. Too many carbs and especailly sugars will cause your blood sugar to spike then fall rapidly resulting in an body energy crisis and hunger cravings.
 
Yes Jayme, I know how that is. There would times that I will be so starved when I get done picking up my daughter, I would stuff myself with a snack when I got home and then try to cook supper and not be hungry. Don't think that was technically along the same lines as you, but you get the point.

It proves that I do listen to Greene and what he has to say. He's told me that time and time again. I didn't think it would work, but it did.:) Isn't it funny that a 40 yr old would actually know something...lol:D
 
Last night I didn't eat anything after all that stuff I wrote. I also went on the about 4 mile jog and didn't stop except to tie my shoes and it took me 42 min. I wish I read this earlier because my breakfast wasn't that super this morning-although I did get an egg in it.
b-1 fried egg and a spoon of salsa, less than a cup of oatmeal (it spilled over in the microwave-I should've known there was a reason I eat grapenuts all the time!), milk, 2 1/2 slices of bread w/marg and a little honey.
I'm not eating a snack and the good news is I am starting to get slightly hungry now:11 am. So maybe I am burning those carbs. I'll admit I'm pretty much a carboholic. We only have beef and venison at my house usually (never soy whey) and most mornings I have to eat and run to get to work on time. but on weekends I'll put in more meats. And for lunch I'll have crock pot meat loaf and veggies. You were right about the pudding I saw it in my fridge and gobbled it up! And I'll work on the portion control w/my bread. I love my good days so I'll try my best. For the record -'m proud of this:), I delivered 91 papers in 59 min. At least I get a little bike ride in everday. Thanks for all the help-it's nice to know I am not alone in my eating issues.
 
Sorry I haven't replied for so long-I don't have internet and I just get on when I have time. Last Saturday I walk/jogged 19.8 mi in 4:20:35. My diet has been aweful the whole week. Way too many carbs and not enough protein. I don't have the motivation or energy to exercise after work. I already show up a little late to work so I'm in no position to get out early enough to get exercise and sleep. Sleep has been a big priority. And pretty much all I did right as far as health stuff. I have a 5 day wkend now and I am definatly ready for the break! I started knitting a scarf today. (I know that's random but hey, it is a diary) And back to last saturday, After that my feet were sore, no blisters, and my hips were feeling something. (I shouldn't have complained then because Sunday the sunburn was a lot worse than the body) The race was from a town to a lake and that was awesome. I went on a jet ski and went tubing (my arms got sore because I never let go even tho my body was off the tube) and went knee boarding for my 1st time. I love knee boarding despite crashing 3 times. I tried to do a 360 but only did a 180 and crashed. I also swam. Pretty much saturday rocked my world. The only exciting thing about this week was v-ball on Tues night and stripping on Wednesday. Stripping the old wax off in a room, that is. It was super slippery and time consuming. I hope I burned a lot of calories at work because I didn't at home!
 
wow. long break from posting...The week before last I did a backpacking trip-3days 15 miles, pack weighed 28 lbs to begin with. It was really fun. this last week i went to a fair for 4h. I wonder what my mom would think if I told her about this...I am a little worried and that is why I haven't been posting much + I am busy. I probably try her tonight so I can either do this right or do a diary on paper.
 
Ask her if I can do an online fitness forum, because we have internet at home now and if I get caught I don't her to have a tizzy. I did talk to her and she doesn't want me doing this. I don't understand why, but I'd rather have a good relationship w/my mom than have an online diary. Sorry everybody, I really would love to stay on here. Maybe I can get on during school.
