I always think that no turn is wasted because they give more clues...
People could say that I always waste turn 2 and 3 because I ignore my earlier findings - but I always feel that the clues I get help my efforts from turn 4 onwards...

on the 4th word i was just playing with letters, hit ENTER instead of backspace by mistake and was surprised it was actually a word... oddly helped, too.

True, of course, but strategic extra tries would probably look different and give more information? Not that it really matters: it's a very simple game :)
 
I did yesterday's & got it in 4, but had to come back after golf & got it but my 4th try took ages. I could never just throw in a word to eliminate letters & ignore the ones I know are right. I really do try to get it in 2 or 3.
