Sport Will Whey Protein make me "fatter", and how would TOO MUCH protein in general effect?

- i hope your aware most carbs and polysaccarides are made up of the monomers glucose. So essentially these carbs are broken down in the gut to glucose & trasfered across the mucousal membrane to wherever it is needed.

- usually when people imply they refer to the norm ;)

I dont know if your a biochemist or perhaps a nutritionist, or even just a teenager scrolling through the internet trying to make sense, but i hope we can resolve anger hehe

Care to elaborate on how protein is converted to fat like you mentioned before id like to hear it:D ??

. If we ingest an amount of amino acids(talking about the conversion process) that are in excess of our body's biological needs, they are metabolized to glycogen or fat, Through a process known as "Gluconeogenesis".
Now i will not go any further then that because i have wasted enough time here already. Want to know more about the process? Look it up yourself.

You were not referring to the "Norm". If this is the case then you are saying the average american does not over eat and under exercise.

glucogenesis is totally different to lipogenesis. The precursors for it dont make make fat it makes glucose, because glucose is essentiall!! Glycogen only lasts for about 12 hours so if one goes to starvation it will need to convert other substrates to keep the plasma levels stable.

Dude, im getting tired of playing this game. Thought i saw your point? I still don't understand what your point is.

Secondly, I was referring to it being transformed into carbs through Glucogenesis which is the process of turning non sugar molecules into sugar molecules. These now transformed glucose can be stored as fat if the need is not there. The whole process starts with Glucogenesis.

Amino acids as well can be directly stored as fat through lipogenesis, did i say it cant? Though i admit i might have worded that section somewhat unclear.

Here why not we just look at the definition of Lipogenesis?

That is my point. My single point is that both can be stored as fat. simple end of discussion correct?

If I am doing mainly weights rather than cardio will taking Whey Protein to replace one meal a day (During work time when I need something quick) and as a post workout meal on workout days (So maximum 2 shakes a day, minimum 1)

Will this have any bad effects or is it just the same as eating food with the same properties as the protein shake? I try to get as much of my nutrition from real, fresh food but as I say these are really useful post workout to get some "food" in me quickly and also in work where I am short of time.

If theres a chance this would contribute to man boobs etc then I will just stop having them and figure something else out to replace them, if they are fine though and would not be any worse than eating food with the same nutritional value then I will stick to them.

Also can TOO MUCH protein in a diet make you put on fat?
