Why get tattooed?

um......do you know each other ?

Wrong ... You have a daughter!

Yeah...that's the thing. Even though I care about a lot of stuff in my life, I think a tatoo would pale in comparison to the actual acts that would show I do care about that stuff. And if I did care about it, I wouldn't have much business reminding myself that I did everytime I looked into the mirror.

lol so true

I guess I'm with CCR and Lei on this, I just can't think of anything I want on my body for the rest of my life. I think tattoos are awesome, and I have pondered the idea for years, just can't come up with anything I REALLY want.

Maybe I'm overthinking it, and should just get something cool that I like...?

I haven't read through this whole thread... but, I have 1 tat.

a friend of mine drew it a while back and i decided not to get it.. I wasnt sure if I would end up regretting it. Then my friend passed away from a motorcycle accident.. so, I got the tat.

I have my Family crest, I was thinking of getting another one, of my wife in a school girl outfit and a little devilish grin on it.(cartoon of course) But I haven't had the time yet

Yes I do.

I just don't like the idea of doing something irreversible to my body that will affect the way I look forever. Yes I know, dyed hair can grow out, but it takes a long time for hair to grow.

Ahh, so just a fear of committment? ;)

I tease. Tattoos are not for everyone. For some they are deep and meaningful. For others they are just cool body art. For others they're something trendy to do in college to piss your parents off.

And of course, D: All of the above.

So far only my left leg is au natural...my right leg has a tat on the outer calf, and the inside calf is fully inked. small tribal dragon on my right arm, half sleeve on my left arm.
one tat on my left pec.
and I'm inked on my back, from ass crack to the base of my neck, and up both sides.

I'm a fan. My best friend is also my primary artist, so I get my work done at cost.

Der, where asking me if I am serious? If so then teh answer is yes, I been with my wife over 17 years, have three children, think she is hotter now then when we first met, It was betwen a Schoolgirl outfit and a Mermaid, she likes the mermaid, I prefer the school girl outfit...so still debatable. She will never get one, she had a Belly Piercing, only to find out she was allergic to Nickel, has a nice scare there now due to body rejection. Needless to say she will nto get a new one.

No problem , I didn't think you were critizing, due to the fact you like tattoo's.

I just placed my explaination to why my wife in a cartoon character....

To bad my wife rejected the belly ring, I LOVE those things.

I'm tat-less, but I like the idea of getting them to symbolize accomplishments that you are very proud of. For example my sister has a caduceus on her leg which she got when she graduated medical school. I also like the idea of marathon/triathlon tatoos - very cool.

I'm thinking about my next one right now. I want one on my upper back, more between my shoulder blades, but it would have to match the one I have now.
