Sport Why does fiber make you gassy?

Try this...

Every morning when I'm home, I have my protein/fiber waffles, which includes my sugar free syrup. The syrup contains a lot of sorbitol, which is a sweetener, but also an effective laxative. So I wake up, make the waffles, and by then, the normal morning evacuation takes place. Then about an hour later the sorbitol kicks in and yet another trip to bathroom. By this time, I'm ready for the metamucil (psyllium)/CGT/fish oil concoction. 2 hours later another trip. By then, the 16oz serving of vegetables and can of tuna happen. Couple hours later, another trip, then I'm thinking about my whey shake that includes oat fiber again and flax seeds...this is about an hour before my daily workout. Get home from the workout and I'm going straight for the bathroom.

Of course when I travel, the waffles are out, and mot of the other fiber additions wait until the evening, then I can, if I'm careful, only go once a day.

All the soluble fiber, plus the creatine I take, really makes it important to drink massive amounts of water every day. If I forget to force water down, I definately feel the effects of dehydration on cardio days in particular.

This would make great conversation on a date, don't you think? My wife actually allowed me to install a tv in the bathroom since I spend so much time there!

I spoend enough time in the office. I don't need to install a TV in there. I'd never come out! :beerchug:

I dont think your fibre is responsible for increasing your HDL. Water insoluble has no effect whereas water soluble lowers your LDL.
