Who is good at photoshop?

I'd be very grateful to anyone who could help me. I've been trying to get a sticker made for car windows using my company logo. I was trying to have it done through vistaprint.com as they were the first company to pop up in my search. I know nothing about them really but that their platform won't work for my image.

I need the logo itself to be white (b/c it will go against a tinted window) and the background to obviously be clear to match the glass.

Attached is what I have in terms of the image. This is after a few people toyed around with it to get the logo white. Any suggestions or support would be great.

Thanks.

You want it to be a transparent background, with white copy... right now it's a black background with the white being transparent - I think anyhow...

The white on transparent is going to be tough to see on screen... and you don't want to lose the transparency when it gets saved...

Im just too dumb these days to remember how to do it.

Yea, white on clear seems to be giving all the smart people I ask (including you) a problem.

I'm hoping there's a Photoshop God among us here that will come forth and end this frustration once and for all.

:)

OK Steve, i think i can help in this area.

What exact file format is vista print looking for. Give me the format they want it and the specifications of the image size, resolution and color it has to be and i can crank it out in a few minutes.

Damn that's a complicated logo :D

*Edit*
Oh, looks like someone else offered to do it. Still, I'll give it a go just incase :D

*second edit*
On second thought, the way I was going to approach it will take too long (reproducing the logo in a vector program). And gimp isn't great at getting clean magic wand/color selection results.

I don't know the answers, lol.

Here is the link to the page on vista that I get to and get screwed up:

Does that help you out at all?

Thanks man.

Thanks anyhow, appreciate it.

window sticker? why not go local business?

I haven't even thought of that Tony. I don't know of any printers in the area but I'm sure they exist. That's what I would look for, right? A printer. I wonder if that's what they'd be listed under in the yellow pages. I'll have to do some digging later today.

Because the background has to be transparent.. .you're limited in your file types though

Nope - transparent backgrounds are pretty easily supported in PNG formats...

the problem that I ran into and someone who knows way more about PS than I do... and we just ran out of time to keep pokng at it...

your transparent background is pretty much white in screen.. n
now you want to change the logo to white

and the logo basically disappears into the background...

I suppose an additional colored layer could be set up...

I feel bad that I bailed on you on this - I completely forgot about it...

WEll this is all jiberish to me. If it can be done, great. If it can't, it's irritating but whatever. Maybe I should call a local guy.

I suppose I could change the logo color to gray or something, but I'm much prefer white.

And don't be silly. I didn't expect you to keep trying and trying. You ran into problems... and it's not your responsibility to keep plugging away at it. To be honest, I forgot about it myself until now.

Back ground = pale baby blue

I'm not a photshop guru but I've worked with graphic arts departments in packaging

If you're going to create photo ready art so the image can be captured with graphic camera, I'd suggest you change the black background to a pale baby blue, and the graphic image to black for photograpic/screen printing purposes.

Many screen print processes use a photograhic process that cannot see blue (like the hollywood special effects) color.

The black ( what you want to be white) areas are captured and a screen is created that only has the image you want to print in white. This can then be printed on any back ground material, clear, black, red, white etc.....what ever. Also any opague colour can be printed, by selecting the correct ink.

Hope this helps.

Well the one thing that does make your graphic difficult to work with is when i drop it into illustrator and try to turn it into a vector image, the alias'ing i guess you would call it doesn't smooth out good enough when i flip the color of the image.

Its complicated but it has definitely stumped me for the moment. I would definitely take your image to a local print shot / offset printing place and have them recreate it as a vector so you can make it as large or small as you want and maintain resolution. So that it can be used to create all sorts of company labeled stuff. signs, stickers, pens, coffee mugs, etc etc.

I have fireworks and jasc photo shop so I'll give it a try. I've done that before and all I did is inverted it so the logo would be black and background white then made the background transparent. THEN made the logo white....but I don't remember if I was successful when I tried it or not :X. Maybe a very fine black outline and the rest white would do it?

Ok here...try this. The second one has a colored background so you can see it but the first one is the white on transparent. I know it looks like the background is black when you look at it but it's not.
