Hi lora jean,
I am muru1950,a new member.
You can very well reduce your weight.
You can reduce your weight by simply doing some changes in your life style.
Drink daily 8 glasses of water.Do walking for 30 minutes daily.
Don't eat deep fried foods.Eat more vegetable and fruits.Instead of 3 heavy meals, have 5 small meals.Reduce drinks.Take less meat.Eat more fish and chicken. If you reduce 500 calories daily by diet or exercise, you can reduce 1lb in a week.

New

Hi
I'm new to all this and have been on Cohen's lifestyle for the past 2 weeks....have lost 8 kilo so far yippee...finding it really hard to stick to and miss my fav foods. So any encouragement would be great. If anyone has been on Cohen's or tried it I'd love some feedback.

I'm having a hard time cutting my portions but I don't drink soda's and fast foods are out with me as I like vegie salad a lot. Your tips are a nice way to start though and is one of the general small thoughts I really like, simple and effective also.

Anyway, I'd like to be able to cut off my portions that's why I am visiting forums these days to get some tips, ones that people and others can really benefit from and I also like to post them in my personal blog if ever possible so as to help distribute any helpful information I can get.

Hi

Hi to you all

Have just stumbled across this site myself and yes it looks great - packed full of advice and motivating stories!

I'm 6ft tall, 45 yo male, about 225lb. Ive been a yo yo dieter for most of my life. Ive found over last few years its been getting a lot harder - I lose less (maybe 5-10 lb) , then "crack" , and it all goes back on again. Its time for me to be more accountable. I guess like most guys Ive been convinced I can lose the weight (40-50 lb) doing it by myself "in secret". And I cant. Or rather, I wont!

Top reasons to lose weight:
- To feel more confident
- To stop having to compromise with clothes all the time.... to wear what I want when I want
- To stop looking like an elephant on the dance floor (I may be able to dance but that just makes me look like an elephant in top hat and tails..)

Right - I'll just get my tape measure out and get started!

Hello,

I am a diet drop out. I feel horrible about the way I look and am terrible to myself as a result. I beat myself up a lot over my weight. I suppose it is easier to beat myself up and feel bad about myself rather than loose the weight.

I have gained about 30 pounds in the past 5 years. I am 41 and I need to get a grip on my weight issues as I start heading into middle age. I need to lose about 45 pounds.

I think what caused me to fail before was that I set my calorie limit too low. When I was younger, I would put myself on 1200 calories a day and be fine, I would lose the weight and go on. This time I am aiming for 1500 calories a day. Keeping a food journal seems to work best for me since I tend to eat when I am bored. I am a NICU nurse and I have a horrible habit of eating junk when I get home from work, even if I'm not hungry. I think it is how I de-stress.

I look forward to checking in here everyday.

I'm a Noob

Hi everyone, I just joined and I am a noob in every sense. I'm 31 yrs old and about 350 lbs. I don't have a scale, but I've been floating around that weight for the last 6 months or so. Anyway, I have NEVER seriously tried to diet or exercise to lose weight. I've always been overweight, but never cared much to change it. For some reason that's changed. Also, I've never used a forum before, so I'm not even sure if I'm doing this right LOL, but we'll see soon won't we? Anyway, any help, tips, advice, or encouragement anyone might have is WELCOME! And if I'm lucky, I'll figure out how to read them. =) Oh, I've found FitDay and love it. I'm looking forward to journaling my food intake and activity.

Good luck to everyone else who is on their journey to a healthier fitter self.

Hi SS! welcome to the forum! good luck to you too!!

Just wanted to say you might get more of a responce if you post this introduction in the 'newcombers" section.....
