What kind of music motivates you to

I listen 2 Cascada 2! And other techno, as well. Normally, I don't like Eminem too much, but I listen to 'Lose Yourself' and 'When I'm Gone.' I know the Spice Girls are now considered to be extremely over, but their song "Viva Forever,' is good to listen to when running.

Trance, house, hip hop!! Need my iPod glued to my ears and turned up loud!

Just read this article on music and motivation....quite interesting if anyone is interested.

disturbed, metallica, killswitch engage anything sorta heavy and loud i think increases arousal and motivation. It does for me anyway

classic rock like hindrix, clapton, frampton, cream, blue oyster cult, joe walsh, floyd and grudge kinda rock like nirvana, pearl jam, audioslave, alice an chains etc..love my rock

I will probably regret admitting to this one - I have loads of stuff on my ipod but, when I'm doing cardio, there is one song that seems to get me going more than the others and I ahve no idea why.....Status Quo, Whatever You Want.

There....I said it!! :p

Are you kiddin me right now.. I was first to admit that I listen to Cascada. Noone else but this board knows this. Although I do lose my cover when I always put 2 of her songs on every new CD I burn. Sometimes it just comes outa nowhere and starts playing. All good though, some music just drives you whatever it may be.

N' yeah wtf is with celine dion at a GYM? Her music aignt bad, but that doesn't belong in a gym to be played.

here's my workout compilation. Most of it is angry-like music which gets me pumped up.

Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff
Adema - Bad Triangle
Ill Nino - Everything Beautiful
Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name Of
Stemm - Face the Pain
UFC - "Ultimate Fighter" theme
Reveille - Look At Me Now
Reveille - What You Got
Kid Rock - American Badass
Metallica - Fuel
Disturbed - Sons Of Plunder
Finch - Three Simple Words
Guano Apes - Open Your Eyes

It all depends what mood I'm actually in but primarily:

Rock - running
Club/Dance/R&B - weights
Classical/Soundtrack orchestra - cycling

I have quite a wide rage of tastes!

Holy thread necromancy! LOL

I have to listen to (or watch) some sort of rock music when I am working out. I usually watch rock concert DVDs, and Foo Fighters at Wembley Stadium is my current drug of choice.

I get very excited once Breakout comes on, as that means my 30 minutes on the elliptical are almost done. Whew!

Dave :p

alot of old school hardcore like Sick of It All, Hatebreed, Slapshot. Really gets me running. I must say though one thing Isaac Hayes song "Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic" is awesome to run to. Great soul funk rhithym that really kicks arse in the end. It's about 9.5 minutes long to help ye groove the distance.

I really like electronic music when I'm training. Infected Mushroom comes to mind.

When I'm cardio-ing, I kind of need some loud, up-tempo music with distorted guitars and maybe a few guitar solos here and there. Symphony X, Dream Theater, Angra, Vision Divine. Then some Lostprophets (first record), Bad Religion, Millencollin, NOFX, that kind of things.

Then when I'm weight training I can listen to anything else, some of my favorites include Maroon 5, Jason Mraz and Bersuit (Argentinian music, VERY recommended).
