What kind of music motivates you to

I enjoy just about anything that I normally listen to. The one thing I can only listen to while working out though, is heavy metal.

I can't listen to music while I lift, for some reason I just can't stand it. But while I do my cardio routine, it's all about the humps with Black Eyed Peas... Though sometimes I go the DHT route, or Milk Inc (light weight techno... Almost adult alternative). And hell reggie is good as well.

I get motivated by harder edge music. Fear Factory, Machine Head, Soulfly, Unearth, Children of Bodom, Stampin' Ground, Pantera, Lamb of God, stuff like that

Here is my recent workout mix

Violent Femmes-Blister in the Sun
The Breeders-Last Splash (nothing like that first bass line to keep you going)
The Clash-Rock the Casbah
The Postal Service-District sleeps alone tonight
The Roots-Seed 2.0 (live)
Beastie Boys-Sure Shot
Elvis Costello-Pump it up
Drivin N Cryin-Fly me couragious
Sponge-Plowed
Offspring-Come out and Play

Rap.

The lyrics can be damned annoying, but alot of it has good timing you can skip or punch a bag too.

I don't listen to music when I'm running, I run before dawn, so I just enjoy the quiet of the streets and the sounds of birds waking up.

Anything with a hyper beat... Right now I have Black Eyed Peas (the whole Monkey Business and Elephunk CDs - their stuff is just so full of energy to me), and a little of each of Destiny's Child, Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna, MxPx, Natasha Bedingfield, Kutless, OC Supertones, Pillar, Relient K, Nickelback, Pussycat Dolls, Switchfoot.

usually with 120 BPM... or higher... nothing depressing either... I can't lift weights or do cardio to stuff that doesn't put me in a good mood! :)

Cascada gives me the drive I need as well as Techno for cardio. I listen to rap/hiphop for when I'm boxing. When I'm lifting I listen to nothing but my own thoughts. Some old school freestyle for relaxing afterwards.. Mostly Stevie B.

my music preference swings with my mood

most of the time it alters between slow rock and heavy metal

some of my all time favourites
Sepultra-chaos A.d
Black sabbath
Jethro tull
Mettalica
Slayer

i generally prefer music thats fast paced with heavy drumming
that gets the exercise pace going
