what is heaven like

I always imagined heaven being all white clouds and everyone wearing white like angels. and you can meet your family members and ancestors.

A giant family reunion? Hell sounds a lot nicer already! Just kidding; I'll be happy in hell or heaven; I just want an afterlife! Oh how life loves to tease my humanist lifestyle.

I personally wouldn't want to go to hell if I spend eternity burning, however if it was just a godless area, with people still being civil, I don't think I would mind.

In my heaven, i would like to have a smoking hot girlfriend, no job, and i can spend my days working out, dirtbike riding, and hanging out with my friends, family and smoking girlfriend.

spoken like a 15 year old.

Well, I'm 39 and that sounds great to me to!! I might do a few other things in addition to working out and I'd ride a fast-ass motorcycle rather than a dirtbike, but otherwise that sounds puurrrty good!

Have you ever drifted off to sleep, but before you did, you had a rush of images and sounds from all around you? It felt like everything was still very vivid and in your last moments of conciousness, you were able to register and comprehend everything that went on...That might be what death is like, only thousands of times more intense...If we did indeed die and assimilate with The Big Guy, it WOULD be everything we want. God IS everything and we would become one with everything. God doesn't have to give us motorcycles or tits to play with, for we have trancended all need and want. We would trancend all being and identity...This would also be nirvana.

Yes I think it is also true that we probably cease to exist, but the feeling of oneness and wholeness is not fleeting by any means. I think it is important to live your life to the best of your ability, as when you die, you don't get a second chance. Your atoms will eventually be reconsituted within other living beings, but you will never again be the whole living organism you are now.

Obviously this is all just me writing down my thoughts.

You'd smoke your gf in Heaven?

Boy likes to smoke crack(naughty joke), so leave him alone.:yelrotflmao:

I think in the afterlife you forget everything. Since you forget everything, you don't have worry about anything, meaning you are carefree and living in a carefree world. In other words, I think you live in a blank state.

I went into a coma once (my closest brush with death). When I was revived it was like I was coming out of a state of nonexistence. All black and no thoughts. Hard to describe.

Smoking hot girlfriend and riding a dirtbike are in the bible.

HHMMM...... Must be new testament stuff :yelrotflmao:

Still. Sign me up I guess. ;)

That would be strange! Recently i had a weird dream where i was at the movies watching transformers...even tho i had already seen it lol but it is a dream so who cares:rolleyes: and there where seats that face like on a angel towards the screen and there was a really fat guy leaning inwards towards the one seat next to me that faced towards the screen and i asked him to move and he did and he left his like cup cakes and biscuits and stuff on the chair when he moved and i went to pick them up and give them to him and as i did some of them feel out and rolled around on the ground and he got farking pissed at me and he like grabbed my hips like put all his force into pushing me into the side of the chair and while i was dreaming this my body was actually doing it!!!!!!!!!!!!! like i was half awake as it got kinda painful and my body was pushing my hips all the way up and while this was happening i was just kinda waking up and in a weird state then i woke and my hips hurt
also there was a dream that i have had once like i was in a tunnel and as you walk down it the tunnel gets smaller and caves in on you but as it does it is turning into like flesh and is all bubble...i have talked to many other people and they sed they have had this dream many a times...and what about the falling threw air and when you wake its like you hit the bed? Any one here had these ?

I've always found those situations interesting. For instance, the people who had been athiest, died, experienced hell, then drastically changed their outlook after they came back. Or those who experienced heaven, etc.

The arguments of some scientists stating that certain brain activity can stimulate memories of loved ones, the tunnel effect w/ the bright light and so on, can explain a lot in terms of near death experiences. However, I'm not sure how that can explain those who are completely dead with no brain activity to stimulate those things. I guess that would be why even within the scientific community there are conflicting beliefs.
