What do you do for a living?

I was a nursing student up until yesterday but suffered throughout the course so now I'm a nothing  I'm thinking of doing yoga teacher training for the moment. What do you do?

I'm a teacher. Why did you quit nursing school?

OMG....and I was so sure you were the Official Bikini Inspector! ;)

Insulation Contractor....we insulate existing homes (retrofit), blowing insulation into their attics and/or walls. Keeps the house cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter and saves on energy bills. To those willing to embrace energy conservation, I offer my message of thermal salvation...so long as their check doesn't bounce or their credit-card runs. :)

EPS...sorry about having issues with Chemistry, it's a common downfall for many. What are your plans now?

I'm a student, living off the Norwegian taxpayers money. Or my own money from the future, depends how you look at it :p

Okok, it's not all free, but if I pass my exams 40% of my student loan will be turned into a scholarship :D

Camel Humper.

Network Administrator/Hotel Manager/Sales and Marketing Manager.

Train new and existing employees on software.
Build and maintain computers/servers
Create local marketing plans
Create internal human resource plans.

Create employee motivational programs: (One example)

Example: I developed a program called: H.I.S.S. (Hospitality Incentive Sales System) within the hospitality business I currently work for.

Within this program, I have subprograms called: Split-Infinitive-Points System (SIPS), Special Thanks and Recognition System (STARS), Employee Sales Stimulus System (ESSS), Customer Improvement System (CIS), Catch and Hook System (CAHS), Employee Referral System (ERS), On-Peak Sales System (OPSS), and Penetration Attractants for Off-Peak Season (OPSS).

Currently, I have a employees from 5 different hotels sharing a multitude of free merchandise and services from various businesses within the local business sector--that is earned through various incentives from there position scope dependent on varying aspects of performance.

Locally, I am using the goods and services of my company to market and advertise non-competing businesses, while using the goods, services, and merchandise of other non-competing businesses to market my business; sharing recources for mutual benefit.

Briefly employees get benefits like:

1. $50 to $100 free gift cards from 3 major retailers (unlimited amount) per month. 1000's of dollars per month when all of them are added together.

2. $50 to 100 in free gas from 5 major convenient stores per month (45 coupons stipulating our partnership). 1000's of dollars when all of them are added together.

3. Unlimited amount of bouquets from 4 major flower shops- a specifc number per month

4. Free movie rentals/40 free movie tickets (per month with varying limits)

5. Free oil changes, inspections, and selected auto repair. (We have 4 auto shops). Car broke down? Cant get to work? No problem, employee gets picked up, for free.

6. 100 free pizzas and other food items (per month, and this is just one business, and we have 10 all together, with 100 each), 50 free McDonald's meals (Month), and many other resturaunts providing "hundreds" of amounts of varying free food and services far too numerous to mention (about 100 all together). (I dont want to hear that the food is unhealthy, I am working in the "real world here")

7. PC parts and accessories for free. (Limited amount per month)

8. I have area businesses providing free goods, services, and merchandise that are from:

High Volume retail businesses
Low Volume retail businesses
Fast food franchises
Floral Franchise
Movie Theatres
Convenient Store Chains
Media of all types
University of Kansas (many departments)
Media public and private
Vehicle dealerships
Vetinary clinics
Sport Shops
Airports
Taxi Services

These are just a few examples I quickly posted and doesnt scratch the friggen surface on what is available to the employees and my company.

I take care of my employees when they take of their responsibilities of their position. And, I reward good work.

Bottom line: Actively participating in envisioned business partnerships will create an invisible dome within the property city, in which all business are connected to the company by invisible direct line providing goods and services the others do not, and develop the company into a visionary participant differentiating the company from the competition.

Stimulates company services TO the partnering business, which in turn brings products and services to the originating company. Several bi-lateral and mutli-lateral strategies can be used (like marketing EACH OTHER) to affect certain components of the company and explicately address the inherent human causes that attract customers to the business.

If I need something for one of the hotels, all I need to do is make a phone call. WHY? Because of what "my company" does for them in trying to improve their own business while I try to improve my own.

This program has worked wonderfully well and has been powerful.

Any hoot that is what I do.

Best wishes

I'm just a lowly architect. Its a thankless job listening to everyone bitch because they didn't design their building. I pretty much design schools and municipal buildings. I do more of the technical stuff because I'm not a free spirited artsy fartsy person. I am the guy arguing with contractors over change orders, doing field inspections, and lately lots of drawing.

I also oversee our CAD department that was a "promotion" I received about a year ago.

Web Programmer here.

I have a love/hate relationship. I love it, but then I hate the fact that I don't have much of a career option because of hearing issues.

I didn't quit I wasn't allowed back after I failed Chemistry.

They usually let you back if you take a course at a community college or I found that 9 times out of 10 if you go directly speak to someone, they'll let you back in. Don't do it by phone or ask a teacher. Go right up to the person in charge, make an appointment, and then tell them that you're serious about about going back and getting that A+ in chemistry. Besides, I'm sure you can get some nerd to help you. It's quite easy to spot one. If you're serious about passing chemistry, it's quite easy to do so. I never heard of a school that doesn't let you back in even if you failed... at most they'll ask you to not come back the next semester but you can register after something like a 6 months period... but during that time you can take a community college course of the same subjects and simply transfer the credits when you can register again.

By day I’m taking an advanced course in the applied teachings of the Fonz at my local college (we’re doing the shark jumping practical next week), but during the day I’m bringing sexy back to pay the bills

Other than that I work on new business development for a media tracking agency

Purchaser/Inventory Manager/Computer & Network tech

Went to college for welding and am studying with ISSA to become a certified fitness trainer.

With my background with computers and welding I got hired to take care of the inventory and computers (including point of sale software and whatnot) for a retail store that sells welding supplies. Love the job, co-workers and bosses. Been 5 years now...

Hoping to clear what I owe within the next 2 years and goto college to become an outdoor adventure specialist.

I consider myself a scholar, and this fall will be attending my 18th consecutive year of formal schooling. With the aim of finishing out at about 25'ish years. I like the thought of a quarter century. Nice, round number. But how I pay the bills is speculating in real estate, commodities and currency. But not always in that order. I also dabble in internet marketing, and am I guess what you'd call an aspiring poker player (with a world-class mentor <3). Oh, and once I get around to it, I'm going to try this whole fitness consulting thing as a hobby.

I'm also sometimes a... Freelance Editor? (more like a janitor imo - cleaning up the illegible crap researchers would throw together because they lack basic English skills and "common" sense) for some people here at the Uni. For which I am compensated very well (somewhat against my wishes, haha - there are other perks, and I still feel that they more than suffice, but as I've said before, people here have too much money), because nobody in their right mind enjoys that sort of work. I also "lie" outrageously about how long it takes me to get it done. But hey, billable hours are billable hours. Just because I do the work 5-10 times faster than the "experienced" ladies doesn't mean I should get paid less for it, right? That would be unfair. :bncry:

Oh, and I volunteer at a camp for behaviorally/functionally/financially challenged children. I mention it because it is also something for which I am "paid"; very much against my will, in this particular case. I don't know why they bother, as I always end up funneling the money back into the foundation. Fortunately, it's an honorarium, so it's not much of a hassle come tax time. Tbh, I think there's some sort of direct incentive for the company that backs them (other than the write-off I mean, and the doing of good works).... Did I mention that people around here have too much money?

Also, I could help you with your chemistry, bb. Don't give up. Well, unless you just hate chemistry. ^_^

I'm a registered nurse, specializing in neuroscience and trauma. Right now I "float" to all areas of the hospital except OB/peds, but trauma is my first love. If you bust your head open, I'm your woman.

I need my "head" examined. (Edit: I mean the one between the shoulder blades ;)).

I have "rock-on" head trauma, can you assist me?

Will you do it?

:)
