Sport What are your temptation foods?

Sport Fitness
Hi everyone. I am a relatively new poster, and I love all the advice I have been reading here! I thought this might be a fun, and maybe even helpful thread: what foods tempt you, and what are your replacements for them? (that is if you have any at all...many of you are probably so good that you simply walk away!) Mine:

1. Overpriced sugary coffee drinks
2. GRANOLA
3. Nut butters (in excessive amounts)

Here are the things I try to eat instead when I want a treat!

1. frozen fruit chunks, like mango and blueberries
2. cereal that isn't as bad for me as granola, like a bowl bran cereal and a little bit of Life mixed together.
3. my own cup of coffee whose creamer-coffee ratio I can measure myself! with a little Splenda added, of course...

And if I really REALLY want something I have a small amount and give the rest to my fiance! Or mooch off my friends! :)

Mine are french bread and ice cream. I think they are just easy targets to pick at. I can justify ONE bite of ice cream during the day but if I do that all day...well...my bites add up and at the end of the day I still want ice cream! Hot fresh french bread with creamy melty butter...well, there's just nothin better :)

I have switched to "no sugar added" ice cream which I have to have in very small amounts because its made with Splenda and can give me some bad tummy aches. Knowing that keeps me out of it more than the regular stuff. French bread? well if its out I WILL pick at it but I have low carb tortillas that can satisfy the itch and as long as I'm in balance with my healthy food and water I can overcome cravings really easily

surprisingly, since ive been at school (a little more than 2 weeks) ive eaten healthier and been fine without any chocolate or ice cream. I see my roommates eat their fastfood and chips or whatever while im eating a salad or cereal but in the end Im happy that Ive been able to choose the better foods. and all I drink here is water pretty much.

Potato chips out - brazil nuts in
mars bars out - home made oat cookies in
Macky D's out - steak sandwiches in
pork bacon out - turkey rashers in

Ice cream! I had a spoon full of ice cream, and I wished I could have kept going :(

Other than that, lots of regular junk food always lingers in my mind. Especially, Dr. Pepper. I used to drink 3-5 a day. Now it's once a week.

Replacements: Not much. If I'm craving something sweet I'll have some skim milk with a little bit of chocolate added (no fat anyways!), or a bowl of fruit. And every once in awhile I'll have a bowl of somewhat sugary cereal.

Skim milk + chocolate is a great idea! Milk (soy this is, my stomach can't take lactose) always seems to satisfy me.

Oh my gosh, I used to live on Diet Dr. Pepper...very unhealthy. But I contend it is the best tasting diet soda out there!

Last night, I discovered a great substitute for granola that doesn't have nearly as many calories: Health Valley golden flax cereal! A lot like granola, but with flakes too, and best of all it has lots of good stuff: high fiber, little sugar. 190 cals per 3/4 cup.

Where do I begin? LOL Chocolate, um...chips, um....cookies, cake, pretty much anything that is a no no on a "food that is good for me" list. LOL And that ain't no joke! LOL

Well, for me.. I’m a chocolate lover (just plain milk chocolate) and unfortunately I haven’t found anything that could replace it….always cheat and have a bar every once in a while… :D

My Temptation Foods
1. Chocolate Cake
2.Banana Milkshakes
3. Milano Cookies
4.Pretzels
I love all things but those were some of the things that I love eating and I love Pancakes they are fattening I know but I just had to have some when I got up this morning and I love Raisin Bran Crunch w/ Coca Cola that is the best.

Raisin Bran Crunch TOGETHER with Coca Cola?? Haha!

Mmm, chocolate - about to be that time for me so I think I'm craving it especially. Have any of you tried Spirutein shakes? I had their Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl flavor today, with a little bit of Stevia, and a little bit of Fat Free/Sugar Free Butterscotch Instant Pudding mixed in...plus ice and water. In blender. Oh. My. God.

Chocolate, ice cream, french fries.....did I say chocolate and ice cream???

Unfortunately, I have NO willpower and there are NO replacements :( Why do you think I go to the gym so much?!!? ;)

Booze! Especially vodka. I have decided to stop drinking entirely since it is not all that good for me and a waste of calories. I miss it terribly though. I just adore cocktails.

Beer. At a rate of 16-22 a night. I sorta miss those days...and sorta don't miss the days-after =)

And Soft peanut butter cookies. Oh my god. I'm a little girl in a candy store when it comes to those, i've been known to eat 3 pounds of em in a day on a binge once or twice lol :D

Ooh, soft peanut butter cookies made me think of my favorite cookie...OATMEAL RAISIN!

There is a small, gourmet grocery chain in Texas called Central Market (derivative of H-E-B, the regular non-fancy grocery store), that makes the most mouth-watering, moist, f*$cking delicious rated-X oatmeal raisin cookies. As soon as you put one in your mouth, you are honestly kind of speechless for a second. "What magical things are in here?" you think, "organic brown sugar? Freshly churned butter? Pot? What! WHAT MAKES YOU SO DELICIOUS, YOU COOKIE YOU!!"

Or, at least, that is me.

My HEB started carrying a lot of the Central Market Organics in it. It's not one of the HEB Pantry stores, it's sort of in between the Pantry ones and the Central Markets. It has a decent amount of organics and ethnic stuff. Great stores.

Anyway.

My temptations are pretty much all sweets (and sometimes salty stuff). Mostly brownies and stuff like that. I try to sub in something better, like the Weight Watchers technique of mixing a cake mix with only unsweetened apple sauce for a treat, but it isn't the same.

my tmeptation is beer :( my only weakness, damn cant anyone invent good healty beer? those low cal beer taste **** anyways
