My top 5 are:

1. Gone With the Wind--Margaret Mitchell (Superbly written and a great social and historical look at the Civil War and Reconstruction through white Southern eyes)
2. Wuthering Heights--Emily Bronte (full of raw emotion and passion)
3. Vanity Fair--William Thackeray (hilariously witty and insightful)
4. Howards End--E.M. Forrester (great commentary on social class)
5. I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings--Maya Angelou (This woman has lived an amazing life)

Wow, choosing just five was hard--there are so many great books that I like. I have a feeling that tomorrow I'll think of another one that I like better than one of these..lol.

In no particular order and thislist would change on anhourly basis

2. Rebecca -daphne dumaurier
3. travels with charley - john steinbeck
4. watership down - richard adams
5. the velveteen rabbit - by i just cant remember by right

In no particular order:

Basically a book about an overweight lady, who's just split up with her writer boyfriend, who then writes a not so flattering article about her. The twist in this book put my weight issues in perspective for me, for about a week.

One of the only books that's made me laugh out loud...and there's a lot of bits i can relate to, shopping wise...:D

I actually can't think of any more at the moment, off the top of my head I read so many books too, so i guess i've just lost track lol.

there's a new book in that series? I though shopaholic and baby were the last book in that series - hysterically funny series of books -although I want to bitchslap the lead character often and I always feel the brain cells leaching out after reading them...

Yeah i've read the whole series, except Shopaholic & Baby, i haven't had enough money to get that yet lol. I think they're making a film of the first book too, and i think it's been bought by Disney. But a lot of the readers are worried they're going to dumb it down even more so lol.

A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole
Anything by Flannery O'Connor
Anything by Tolstoy, but I adore Anna Karenina
Anything by Cormack McCarthy
Anything by Faulkner
Anything by Mishima
Anything by Paul Auster, as of late.
Flaubert's Madame Bovary

I can't list my favorite books because there are just too many! I'm a sucker for southern American and Russian short stories and novels.

Oh certainly.

Favorite book of all time would have to be Supertraining by Mel Siff.

1. Jane Eyre
2. Pride and prejudice
3. Wuthering Heights
4. Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy
5. cant believe im saying this after how much i mocked it in high school, undermilk wood-dylan thomas....has to be on the list

pretty eclectic list there

I think we have very similar tastes. I love anything by the Bronte sisters and Jane Austen.:)

I don't know if mine will count bc they are not fiction..

{Christian}

*Me and My Big Mouth - Joyce Meyer

*Battlefield of the Mind - Joyce Meyer

*Beauty for Ashes - Joyce Meyer

{I was abused growing up so these really helped me. I'm an emotional eater as well}

This should come to no surprise then... :D

I'm so addicted to cookbooks/diet books..

RE: diet books : I don't try all the plans, I just like to be in the know of what's going on with different views/opinions. Most of them share recipes to and I'm a freak for that! :D

I love to cook and create stuff int he kitchen..

It's pretty neat bc as you pick them apart, you can find some real gems of information that can stick w/you.

Sorry - I'm rambling..

1. 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene
2. The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice
3. The Lord of the Rings By JRR Tolkien
4. Without Conscience by Robert Hare
5. Emotional Vampires by Al Bernstein

I wouldn't say I have 5 favorites but I do have favorite authors

Anne Mcaffery~pretty much anything she has written

Mercedes Lackey~love the Valdemar series

Robert Jordan~God rest his soul he will be missed. I love the Wheel of Time series and reread faithfully once a year.

Garth Nix~an amazing storyteller

Marion Zimmer Bradley~ Mists of Avalon is a beautiful telling of King Arthur and Firebrand a great telling of the fall of Troy

I have know idea what book the movie adaption was about but is sure wasn't The Mists of Avalon I have read many many times through out the years. I was extremely disappointed in the movie version. The people they picked to play the parts sucked and the story line was way off base. I personally prefer books to movies anyday!!:)

My favorite book of all time is Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke!
Next favorite is The Stand (unabridged version) oh man that's my favorite book by Stephen King.
I also have to admit I finally read the Harry Potter series and LOVE it...
too bad I caught the rage at the end.

My favorite author when I was younger was Stephen Lawhead...I completely adored his books and still read them again from time to time.

-Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum Series (starts with One for the Money)-Girls kicking butt always fun... and the comedy in the books is hilarious.
-Marley and Me by John Grogan - anyone who has had a dog (specifically a naughty one) will relate to this!!

Unfornuately since I'm still in college I read more textbooks then regular books and haven't had the chance to enjoy too many books in the past couple years.

I have never read these books, but I have a web aquaintance that insists the main character was modelled after me...
