Weight-Loss What affects does hard alcohol have on a dieting body?

Weight-Loss
You could try light beer or if you know you're going to drink, like MGB says, just add it into your daily calorie intake. Problem with drinking for me at least is it always makes me hungry...drinking days are generally the days I binge...

Also, the benefits of weight loss really offset those potential benefits of drinking. If there's something I can't understand is jeopardizing your bigger goals with a night of drinking.

You've got to have fun, I'm still losing weight and I have drinking nights still. There has to be a balance between denying yourself everything and overindulging - what's the point in being skinny if you can't let loose every now and then?

Yeah alcohol, my vice!
I am super active, my work has me on my feet running around for 9 hrs a day 6 days a week on average, add to that I wake up every morning at 4am ride my mountain bike to the beach and surf for an hour or so, I think I am the fitest I have ever been as I roll into my 30's.
But I cant resist a great night out slamming drinks with good company, even though the next day results in me feeling so lethargic that I can barely muster the energy to drive to the beach.
Last week I was drunk as hell and buying a ring from a street vender, and he told me something interesting, I found this ring I wanted but it was just too small to fit comfortably, feeling bummed I asked if he had anything larger and his first question was. "had much to drink tonight?" I told him I had been pounding back the booze for a few hours, he then told me that booze makes your body swell very quickly and so the ring would actually be a perfect fit. now I took this as a sale pitch at the time, but drunk and stupid I bought the ring...low and behold the next afternoon I put the ring on and it fit like a glove.
the drinking water is a great piece of advice, but be pro active with that too, drink water before hand to fully hydrate, continue to have a few glasses of water during the drinking sesh and then rehydrate before bed, not only will you feel better in the morning but also you will help your body process the booze out of your vital, precious organs much quicker resulting in less damage!

peace

I'm a college student and last year lost 26 pounds...including drinking 2-3 nights a week. I worked out 5 days a week, never ate after getting home, and danced a ton. If you're going to drink, it does add empty calories, but if its something you're going to do, it just needs to be planned in to the daily intake.

Also, I usually make myself mixed drinks with flavored seltzer water and light cranberry juice so that way im just drinking the vodka calories without adding mixer calories as well.
