Weight Loss Supplements

I've been working out in the morning and not having the energy I should. Does anyone out there know of any supplements that would encourage weight loss and give me the energy I need for the early morning lifting sessions. I've tried some but they all seem to make me too jittery. Any ideas?

I would try looking at your diet, sleep habits, water intake first... Chances are there could be some room for improvement there to help your energy levels. Also, start with a good mulitvitamin before jumping to any other supplements. Have you just started to workout? It may take a while before you feel energetic during your workouts if your current fitness level is low.

I agree with PLB about looking at your diet. Also, remember that you wake up with no food or water for the last 8 hours. I work out in the morning but I get up a 1/2 hour early to drink some water and eat a light snack, usually a banana or protein shake. This greatly improves my energy levels.

Get a good night sleep ( 8 FULL hours ), don't look at the TV or computer screen before leaving to the gym, get a nice full meal of carbs in ( oats are great ), play some up-tempo iPod music while you workout.

If all that is no go and doesn't help then try pure caffeine pills (each is 200mg and is equal to two cups of coffee) which are alot better and cheaper than most PWO's your gonna have to buy.

Ha, unfortunately this is so necessary for some people. I've stopped drinking coffee because it wreaks havoc on my stomach, but I have tea every morning because I still need the caffeine! I read this quote recently on a fridge magnet:

"A morning without coffee is like sleep."

So true

They empty your wallet, make you feel shaky, and you pack on the blubber as soon as you quit using them. So, no real benefit.

While I'll agree that a clean diet should be front and center in one's plan, I don't see where the huge problem with supplements is (barring abuse of them). I personally have tried a couple different thermogenic products, not relying on them to "magically melt excess fat away", but just for that extra boost to push me through a workout (especially during cutting phases when I feel a little more worn down). Some of my favorites have been Oxyelite Pro and Roxylean. These products may contain a bit more stimulant than most people are used to, but as long as you drink a lot of water and eat a healthy diet, I don't see how they are doing harm.

I think the main point is that one should address WHY they are lacking in energy, instead of popping a pill.
If you have high blood pressure, you can pop a risky pill that could harm you, and definitely kills your sex life (beta blockers) or you could eat right, sleep right, and exercise more and likely control your blood pressure without the risky pill.

Which seems smarter? (hint: the easiest/shortest route isn't always the best route)

Agree 100%. The quick/easy way is generally detrimental to your health and to your wallet. Instead of taking some snake oil, spend an extra 1/2 hour on the eliptical. Weight loss is not difficult. I repeat Weight loss is not difficult. Stop eating crap, get off the couch and move. Simple.

Yeah I totally agree with you,and we don't know the OP's case, but like I said, I think diet is the first thing to address, and I only use thermogenic when I'm worn down on a cut. It's like coffee, people drink it 'cause they didn't sleep enough and need some energy; most of these products have about as much caffeine as a cup or two of coffee. I'm not trying to advocate the "magic pill" and "taking the easy way out", I just think if you use them correctly, they aren't as bad as they're made out to be.

Yes I agree with the above. Search for the source of the energy deficiency. If that's addressed and you still feel you could use the extra "kick" try BSN's N.O. Explode. It's a little strong if you've never used nitric oxide products before (3 scoops is a serving) but you can use only 1/2 a scoop at first to see how much energy you get from it. (Plus taking 1/2 scoop will make it last a while!) Anyways I know there isn't much evidence behind most nitric oxide supplements but this ones been around for a while and at least will get you the motivation to work out.

Vit D and biotin are really good supplements to lose the weight. But if some one is interested to lose the weight rapidly then he must use liquid d12 that more effective from both the above mentioned supplements.

Hi.
weight loss supplements include protein shakes because they are good in burning of fat and for energy you can use micronized creatine before your workout.

Have you figured out what might work? What have you already tried?
