Weight-Loss Weight loss stall.

Weight-Loss
Yeah, I'm only 16 this year and really want to take care of my body.

I recalculated the calories that I normally eat when I was obese and it was 1700-1900. Surprisingly that is the recommended calories for food intake but I wonder how can I get to 90kg when eating that amount of calories.

Maybe I have a metabolism that is slower than a snail ?

*Googled some help to assist in maintenance calories and turns out I need to eat 2258 calories to maintain my weight. Well, I think the calculator miscalculated becaese if I eat that much I will go back to the old fat me, or even fatter.

most people tend to eat more calories than they think they are... so i'd find it hard to believe that you were eating only 1900 calories -unless you weighed and measured and kept track of everything you put in your mouth.

You aren't taking care of your body by eating under 1000 calories a day because that's not sustainable for the rest of your life...

Forget what your brother did and what you thought you knew - this is a brand new day and you should learn new things...

if you've got a concern about the possiblity that you have a slow metabolism - have your parents take you to a doctor for a thyroid test... it's a fairly simple blood test to let you k now if there is a problem... if there is - it should be treated.. if there isn't - you know your metabolism issues can be corrected thru new habits..

Alright!

I feel pumped up now, so what should I do to reach my goal(72kg) and sustain it ?
I'm now at 78kg and 6kg can't be that hard yeah ? I can do it!

You can do whatever you put your mind to...

I honestly wouldn't focus solely on a number though -unless you're trying to make a certain weight for sports or the military.. instead go by what you're seeing in the mirror and how you're feeling - the number on the scale is really fickle sometimes.

What are your current meals like? is your mom preparing your dinners? what's she been cooking?

She's been cooking meals, normal Asian meals. Fried rice, spicy fish, spicy beef. Sometimes she cook western meals, steak and stuff. But I usually cooked my own meal, I eat nuggets and wholemeal bread on daily basis if I don't feel like eating my mum's food.

I have to focus on a number because my school have this club where all the overweight students have to attend and I have to hit my suitable weight to get out of the club.

Just an update, I've been doing calories cycle these few days and weight myself in today...

76kg!

I ate about 1200 calories and varying +/- 500 calories on alternating days. Finally I broke the plateau.

Another update!

I'm officially 70kg and I'm keeping it that way, very happy with my current weight but some parts need a little reworking.

Thanks all, I succeeded!

success is not about getting to a specific weight.. anyone can drop 50, 100, even 200lbs.. its a matter of math and time...
REAL success comes from changing your lifestyle and eating habits so you make a sustainable change that has a SIDE EFFECT of weight-loss.

If you've still managed to stay at a healthy BodyFat% in 90, 180, 1yr, 2yrs from now, then you've really succeeded.

But, congrats on making your goal weight :D

Yeah, I plan to reach my weight and then sustaining my current weight. Goal1 succeeded, goal 2... Let's see.
