Before I say anything here, back in 2022, I semi-regularly post updates and active working out, light workout I must say. I was around 120 kg/ 264.5 lbs. lockdown was still happening in my country at that time, so working out was really limited to walking early in the morning (usually starts at 5am) or using fitness apps (push-ups, squats, etc.).
That was until college became hardcore when the lockdown lifted (all activities were online before it was lifted). Since I was an international program student (I still am) the schedule of my subjects and mandatory events was doubled, took all my free time and eventually I stopped working out completely to focus on my academic, any free time I ended up using for either sleeping or doomscrolling.
Now in big '24 my weight is 150 kg/330,6 lbs. (it's actually 148kg/326,2lbs, but I rounded it up).
Short walk from dorm to campus feels extremely heavy and tiring, flight of stairs to my room and classes is like going to break my back and hips, bed and chair squeaking dangerously and of course, the main menu of it all, absolute downfall of my confidence whenever in public.
Today, my dad sent me an image from this Instagram account about "Men are forbidden to get fat", it mentioned a few major risks when it comes to obesity such as: Dysfunction erection, Infertility, sleep apnea, possible prostate cancer, risk of heart attack and stroke, etc., this image hits me real hard in the head since I kind of feel some things clearly starting to happening (sexually, if you know what I mean)
I'm 22, I still have lots of things to do and lots of things to discover, I still have all my body parts and all of it still working well, I'm not going to waste it on some sugar cookies or chocolate bars. I got parents to make proud of, a crush I need to impress and people to prove they are wrong.
And here's my main goal:
- Lose around 15-20kg by the end of the year -
Realistic? no sir, Doable? absolutely. I've lost 19 kg/41,8 lbs. in three months back in high school just before graduation back in 2020, I was 102 kg/224,7 lbs. and by middle of 2020 I was around 83 kg/182,9 lbs.
- 12,000 steps/day
I'm not super busy like before, so I definitely have lots of time now, it's just my laziness wins the battle most of the time.
- More water
I barely drink water, either those juice boxes, coffee and tea from convenient store or sodas, really need to dampen my temptation for "something with flavor because it's better". Also, sometimes my body lie to me that I'm hungry, but I'm actually just thirsty.
- Cut sugar, flour, deep-fried food
This one is the hardest, most food in my campus and dorm cafeteria are deep-fried and flour based when it comes to meat, there are vegetables for vegans, but the menu really limited, and they served it in really small numbers. I still need to figure this out.
Hopefully, I can do it this time, I'm not risking my health (or live at this point) and I still have people to prove they are wrong.
