Cohen's Lifestyle Wandabees cohens journey

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Just a quick one:

So yesterday was the first day I had yoghurt for breaky, and YES!!! SO GASSY!!! And exactly how you described it, hehe.

But it was really yummy... I'm having some more at the moment, but this time with grated apple and cinnamon. Apple sometimes makes me really hungry, so I'm taking a risk...

Hello Wanndabee,

Good luck with your weight loss and thanks for sharing your thoughts, feelings, struggles and highlights with us. I started asbout the same time as you so hopefully we can give each other some real encouragement along the way. xx:waving:

Hi ladies! How is everyone doing? Thanks for all the posts. It's so nice to be part of this community when we can all share our experiences :)

cuddlebones - Great to hear from you! This forum is such a great support system for the Cohens diet. Do drop in and let me know what your progress is. I will definitely look out for your posts :)

decisionmaker - I finally tried the mushroom/zucchini/egg breakfast yesterday and it was really good! Yummier than yogurt - but yogurt will stay on my menu cos it's just so convenient in the morning. My fave brand is Horizon Organic Fat Free Plain. I find it doesnt 'curdle' and remains creamy. Comforting to hear that it gives you gas too ;) hehe - although I am just getting used to it!

Glad that I'm not the only one with in law issues!! I'm sure we all have someone in our life that is negative about our diet plan - but we can't let them get to us girls!! My MIL is actually away on holiday now, so I have a nice break from her and the comments.

Anyway, today I decided to do something about my non-stop craving for sugar. Instead of cheating on a kitkat, I decided to make the Melon Sorbet in my Cohens recipe book. I'm waiting for it to freeze right now and am sooo excited to try it! Do you all have the recipe? Let me know if anyone wants it.

Diversions are definitely not worth it. I have noticed that my weight loss has become slightly stagnant. Although I am down to about 65kg, I am not sure if I should have lost more. On Saturday it will be two weeks on Cohens and I think if I had not cheated my weight loss would have been better. Oh well - cant beat myself up now. Just look ahead and have WILL POWERRRRR.

OK ladies. Hope you are all doing good :)

It works!

I only lost 10lbs my first month, which is really low, but I also lost a TON of inches!!!!

I'd rather take the slow loss and losts of inches as your skin has a better chance of bouncing back!

Hi Wandabees- Just a thought. I bought some Blackmores "Sugar Balance" tablets( a Chromium formula), when I first started the program, after reading about them in the forum just in case I found myself with mad cravings. Some people swear by them. I'll quote what it says on the label-
"Blackmores Sugar Balance helps reduce cravings for sweet foods that may develop due to dieting or low blood sugar." Their worth a try I think.
I won't start on my MIL. She can be the MIL from hell!
Cheers, Cate.

:p

My mum swears by the chrommium piccolate also ... i have never really tried them if i need a sweet and i have no fruit i have sip of diet coke or sprite or the can ( though i do find that having the whole can can make me hungry) .. that tends to help me... we have good days and bad... Thank the lord and Dr Cohen my last few pantry monster days have subsided..:)

I haven't tried the melon sorbet, but man it sounds goooood! I'm definitely going to try it.

The sugar cravings were a killer right at the start, but I have ZERO desire for it anymore. I'm kind of eating my fruit allowance now because I should as it stops me from being insanely hungry. It isn't really about the sugar anymore for me. (bread, or chips, on the other hand...)

Wow, reading back on that, I can't believe that this is me! I would always have to eat some form of sugar within ten minutes of eating any meal. And the more fat that was mixed in with that, the better. I would go out for breakfast 4 out of 5 days in the working week and have (this is hard for me to admit) a grande soy latte (so it was the biggest one possible) and a raspberry and white chocolate muffin. It was only the embarrassment that stopped me from getting two - one to eat secretly in the car on the way to work. And now I am so satisfied with my egg and veg. What a turnaround!

So... maybe I didn't need the blackmores, but it was really hard. I find that if I ever deviate with sugar of any sort, it makes it really hard for the next few days, as all i want is sugar. You've just got to get over the hump. Which you can do!!!

xxx Joh
