Weight-Loss Walking Club Duex february walking challenge

Weight-Loss
Looks like Anna and I have been the only ones posting our walking for the last couple of days. Where are you Tob and everyone else?

27.25 miles for the week

Sorry I haven't been online yet. Last week I was really ill. Thankfully I'm feeling much better this week but I haven't done alot of walking.

I started today. I parked a mile away from work so I'll be walking 2 miles daily Monday to Friday and at the weekend I normally do about 8 miles.

Every little helps, as they say :D

Wow, some really good walkers on here, My walking is being limited by the SH** weather we are getting. keep up the great work guys!

Ok, I am a little confused. I walked the same route that I measured the miles with my van and it was 1.1 miles. Coming back would be 2.2 miles. Today I wore my pedometer and went the same route it was 4.93km, convert into miles would be 3.06 miles. My son said it was because I had to walk up and down hill a lot. I will check it out again in my Van tomorrow. Why would the miles measure different with a vehicle?

Hi Anna,
What type of pedometer are you using? If your using the type that goes by the steps you're taking and you start taking smaller steps at times like when you go up hill that could be the reason. If your using one with GPS then I don't know.

Could be that your info is wrong in your pedometer. you have to measure your stride length properly and make sure that you have all the correct stats into your pedometer. Also if you bounce to much or what ever pedometers will misread. thats why i dont use one. i could walk the same rout every day and get different readings. this is why i use a GPS app on my phone.

I measured again this evening when I went out. With the truck it was the same as the Van. And I haven't been counting about 300ft. The counter doesn't count when we are backing out of the driveway and I walk the driveway coming and going. I haven't been counting L. Sansone DVD as a mile either because the Pedometer showed it was under a mile. But all in all I think my miles average out about right for the last two weeks. Friday before last I walked both ways when I walked, and came up with 3.62 miles. I will try and go both ways tomorrow and measure the other way with my vehicle and use the Pedometer too. I don't have a cell phone.

I may have not set the Pedometer to 0, so I will see what happens tomorrow. Tomorrow it will be 52 degrees, Wednesday 58 degrees, and Thursday it is suppose to be 61 degrees. It was nice out today, but a little Windy. If I remain walking good, I will start going to the lake and walking around the lake and up the hill. I think they counted the miles on the trails. But I will have to fine out what they are. And if I go to the track it takes 4 times around the track to count as a mile. Big hopes, but we will see. My feet and legs hurt a little today.

Thank you :)

I haven't walked to work today as my normal parking bay was full so I've have to park at work. I'll have to make it up at the weekend :)

With a pair of headphones on its pretty quick.

Some of the ladies and I had planned to hike either Sat or Sun. Due to the 70% chance of heavy rain we cancelled all hikes for the weekend. Even if it doesn't rain here but does in the mountains it can still flash flood where we go. I was once up in the mountains at a stream when it flash flooded. We could hear this loud rumbling so we ran to high ground and about 2 min later a wall of water came crashing through the canyon several ft. high. It was sunny out but raining higher up.
