Using the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator

Come on Chillen, lets have another 4th grade rhyme about how I must somehow be mentally confused or some other crap

Nope......I am not posting to this thread, any longer.

I was just messen' around and not being serious at all.

And, I apologize to the OP in advance for this.

I have better things I can be doing. Like helping another brotha or sista on the forum with their goal path, and answering their questions.

Posting methods will not change.

Deal....with it.

No more posts in this thread, my brotha!

:)

Have a great and wonderful day.

Best regards,

Chillen

Typhon

I must confess with your rhymes I feel blessed
Im outta this mess

ok then. So if rhyme time is over I'll comment on tjl's original post.

So I went to the desk to get my key coded to allow use of the stairs from the lobby floor (for some reason, they default to not letting you in the stairs on the lobby floor, although you can go down the stairs from your room).

Similarly, in train stations and airports, I see people crowding onto the escalators even though it is faster to walk up the stairs (due to the crowds on the escalators).

Anyone else notice these tendencies of people to wait longer just to avoid climbing a few stairs?

In an office building anyway, the reason they don't make it easy to use the stairs is because they don't want you in there. Security wants to know who you are and where you are at all times so if you don't belong there they can kick you out. It's difficult to monitor people in stairwells.

When I was at college living in res I always walked up and down the stairs from the 14th floor because it was quicker than elevators.
At a mall downtown there is a gym on the 4th floor. One day the escalator was shut down for cleaning and the suits leaving the gym got pissed off because they were "trapped" on the fourth floor. Security then directed them to the stairs or elevator or suggested just walking down the escalator(crazy idea, walking down an escalator). The irony of leaving a health club and then refusing to walk the stairs was lost on them.
