The Pregnant Man

I dn't care one way or another, but it DOES bug me that people think this is some devine happening. When everyone KNWS a person who has the parts to give birth, CAN give birth.

Find me a man, a REAL man, whose pregnant. Then I'll be wow'd.
Yup, every time I see the headlines, I'm irritated. Not because this person who was born biologically a female wants to live as a man...that's his/her choice. But biologically this is a woman!!

Like you, I'll be impressed when a person who is biologically a male can carry a pregnancy to term.

I just think its weird...becuase he really feels like he should have been a man, but yet has the desire to carry a child? It's just confusing to me. haha
Not nearly as confusing as the guy/gal I met who was undergoing hormone therapy in preparation for reassignment surgery. He wanted to be a woman, so he could be a lesbian. That one confuses the heck out of me...

this world is so sad anymore...why can't people just be happy w/ who/what they are?

I have a buddy on another forum that I used to spend time at - and she had a sister who underwent a sex change operation to make her female and she was an absolutely stunningly beautiful female.

We had this indepth conversation about the sex change operation.. and her sister - went thru years of counselling and the operation would make her who she believed she was... She never felt like she was a boy or a man... she felt like she was female -she was just trapped in the wrong body.

yea, i've heard people say that...i mean, in the end who really knows what kind of "mistake" maybe that happened at the cellular level during conception??

This confuses me. The ultimate part of being a women is giving birth.

From my understanding, people who are transgendered (feel they are born the wrong sex) despise the parts of them that make them their sex.

So this confuses me.

I couldn't imagine existing everyday hating my body and feelling like the only thing that could possibly make me feel whole, was being the opposite sex (a really impossible feat). I feel for those people, but I think its kinda strange. It doesn't hurt anyone though, and if it helps that person I say go for it.

But this, confuses the shit out of me. I mean the media attention surrounding it. Women get pregnant all the time. Lets be honest. Its a biological woman.

Of course, since they probably wouldn't have been able to adopt because lesbians and gays are evil child eaters, in the eyes of the state, what other option was really left to them?

i agree...they are a married couple...they wanted a biological baby...go for it! BUT don't flaunt it all over the world that "a man is having a baby" you know? thats the part that drives me crazy!

as far as this feeling like your born the wrong sex thing....i believe the issue is mental (not physical)... like scitzo's (sp) or disorders at that mental level.

hahahah yeah, that is quite the predicament......:willy_nilly:

Seeee this is what I was thinking, it's weird that you have this strong desire to be a man, but KNEW before you wanted to have your own kids? I would call that confused..I know she/he said something along the lines of keeping her lady parts for that purpose in an interview?
I dont know, I have nothing against transgender, at all, but it's confusing to think that it is pretty much A MAN then, that would have the desire to CARRY a child? I guess we dont know until we're in the situation, but meh, its really a woman inside, so its not amazing hahah.

It's quite simple, really. She didn't change her sexuality, she changed her gender both physically and mentally.

I think they made a mistake going on Oprah with it, it made them look like a bunch of circus freaks. Whether or not I agree with it is another issue, but it's simple science and in my opinion something that is very personal and should not be waved around to the entire world. I also suspect their entire appearence on Oprah was for money, not for acceptance of their lifestyle...but isn't that everyone's motive anyways.

There are so many reasons for people to do crazy things. Man wants to be woman, woman a man... I think we should not judge at all, media hype makes things look so big and out of context.
I try to respect them all.

In that case the so called pregnant man should have made a statement that he/she is actually a biological woman. But no that won't happen because they want people to keep believing in their ridiculous miracle.

Pathetic.

I totally agree... i saw it on tv and im like, no... thats a woman, who wants to be a man, who's having a baby... not a man having a baby... there is no baby comming out of a penis... ita a woman with a vagina who happens to be pregnant and transexual... get over it, weirder things happen...

Work with the equipment you have been given, this bother's me on HUGE level. Also, before I get jumped on about religion, I'm a nihilist. Nature works in certain ways for a reason, and man just has to keep screwing with it. We are the creators of our own destruction, it just hasn't made it back to us yet. Also, it seems like people will do anything to get on TV, from what I understand, SHE is technically a woman, not a man.

I am just a little surprised that after all those years of taking testosterone, and going it them for a few months, that he was able to conceive. I guess I thought the effects would be a bit more permanent. I have a male friend who was taking female hormones, but stopped, and he has some permanent changes.
Anyway, good luck to them.

Its typical media crap..

They certainly sold that story for all it was worth.. However misleading the title was..

I only hope that the family involved are able to raise the baby happy and healthy.. That is all we ever want for our children...
