Weight-Loss The May Weight Loss Challenge

Weight-Loss
Said by someone who has yet to discover the joy of hearing Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad...there are days when I would sell my soul for some peace and quiet. It is coming, soon, and I can't wait to laugh my butt off at you!!!! :D The movie isn't for your darlin, it is so the little one can be transfixed so you can potty in peace.

. . . or shower . . . I know that when Bri is fixated on Bob-Bob, I have 30 minutes to get stuff done. :D

Will I actually need to use the word 'potty' as a noun and a verb?
I am not allowed to use 'take a s&*t anymore?

Doubtful....

lol, I've never met another like me. Sometimes when I am asked what I do for a living and I tell them - it is obvious that was not the answer they were expecting. :D I like to be unexpected. It's way more fun.

One of the reasons I like the firm I am with . . . they let me be me (unless I have to be in Court, of course.)

Sure you can - it will just be repeated by your little mini-me at the worst possible moment.
That is the overall plan.
As far as I see it there is only a very short time that this is cute for a kid to say. I plan on taking advantage of that fully.
Mind you, the wife is against this plan for some reason.....

She is such a killjoy sometimes.:D

It is sad how your language adapts to the young. Potty is a noun and a verb...there is just not that much that is cute about a little kid saying take a sh*t...

Here's my input. There are some really good kids movies out there. There are some that just are not for kids but are marketed to them. You really have to be careful. Disney is usually safe, but if you want you daughter to try to think for herself and not be rescued by the prince, then you have some undoing to do. Some exceptions, like Lilo and Stitch are really good.

My list:
Shrek, not for kids (not unless you like your kids to grab your lips and tell you to shut up, like Shrek did to Donkey)
Barney, hell no
Telletubies, kiddie crack
Pixar, really good
Nickelodeon, usually bad but ok for older kids
PBS, usually good
Noggen, usually good
Muppets, almost always good.

When it comes to movie I really go to Movie Mom's Review on Yahoo.

I will actually refer to this post for a while in a while- at least until things change or I figure it out for myself.
This is the kind of stuff I need to know.:D

Let's see:
Shrek - Nikki did that to me. Well, she didn't grab my lips but once when I was fussing at her about her room she said, "Mom. Two words. Shut. Up." She was 5 at the time I think. Maybe 6. It caught me by surprise and I actually laughed before I caught myself. Then had to explain that it was not nice, etc.

Barney - Yup. Hell no.

Telletubies - hated those lil f@#$ers! Like seriously hated.

Nickelodeon - home of Spongebob!! lol

PBS - My former boss is a big sponsor of our local PBS and when it got to the point I would see him nearly every time I'd tune in - I had to lay off it for a while. Seeing him at work was enough. :p

Muppets - Are they still on???

Sesame Street is a tried and trusted favorite.

Never heard of Movie Mom's Review. I'll have to check it out.

Muppets are on DVD. Muppets from Space has the best music. I also have the Electric company on DVD. You guys are probably a bit too young for that, but it's really great for the kids. It's funny to see Bill Cosby so young and smoking a cigar on a child's program, though. That was the times.

When my daughter was maybe four or five, I was telling her something about how what she'd done was wrong, and she looked at me and said, "You mocked be once. Never do it again!" (From the Princess Bride) She didn't get in trouble for that.

More recently she was talking about her brother and said, "Who the hell would give a kid gum in school!?" She didn't understand that it was a bad word, so she didn't get in trouble. I asked her where she heard that word and she said in Shark Tale. Sure enough it's in there. I'm thinking who the hell would put language like that in a kids movie?

Anyone remember the Great Space Coaster or Romper Room?

Romper Room started in my era, but I was always disappointed because when they said everyone's name looking through the magic mirror, they never said Trops. I wonder why?

??? I've heard of Romper Room . . . does that count??

My youngest has picked up the habit of saying, "Tarter Sauce" when she's disappointed. I had to put a stop to calling her sister "Barnacle Head" though. :D

Great Space Coaster rocked! I remember that as a kid, but it seems none of my other friends do. Had it not been for a Family Guy reference to it and your talking about it now I was beginning to think I'd lost a screw or two.

Now if I could just find a single other human being who has seen Stunt Dawgs, I'll know for sure I'm (kind of) sane.
