Texas Anyone?

Doesn't everybody in Texas drive a pickup truck with a gun rack? (Although most only use the gun rack for an umbrella holder, at least that's all I ever used mine for...)

Thanks everyone for the responses =]

Where are you from Merc?
Born and raised in Boston. No accent =] But I love the cold weather and snow up here so I'd definitley miss that.

I think Houston has the highest per capita rate of obesity. Just throwin that out there.
Then the ladies will love my beastly frame ;-]

Well, I just kinda like the southern hospitality and the way most people are just chill down there. I've been down in the south before and the people are just completely different than up here...in a good way. I like exploring and seeing new things, which is why I wanna go out of state. Texas was just one of the places I was thinking...plus theres the really hot cowgirls down there ;D
<3 the southern belles lol

lol.. to be honest..

a lot of the people that i know that are not from here say they are amazed. They thought that everyone would be really nice and friendly, but according to them, they are not. I love my state and wouldn't say anything bad about it but I really have nothing to compare it to, ya know?

you will def miss the snow lol.. we just get ice down here.

Awww =( well maybe it was because where I was in the south was where Hurricane Katrina went through, and I was a volunteer so maybe thats why people were nice down there?

Have you ever seen snow in person?

Hmm. I've been to Texas a couple of times and I thought (some of the )people were really UNfriendly :( But you can find that everywhere, I guess.

(I'm with ya CCR--I drive a BMW and I, sometimes, drink Capuccinos...I guess Evo wouldn't like that LOL)

lol yes Merc, I've seen snow. It does snow here every once in a while, but it doesn't stick and accumulate.

Just saw this thread.

I'm from Texas, born and raised.
I have no desire to live anywhere else. I love it here.

It is hot as hell, and humid to boot, but there are different climates. Some parts get colder and see more snow than others. Here, I've seen snow about 3 times in my life (28yrs). I've worn short sleeves at Christmas more than once.

Where I live, it's suburban, refinery based, and a lot of people do hunt - and yes, grown men generally live lifestyles that require trucks. Don't be fooled though, many of them are very nice and cost in the 40's & 50's - so not just old beat up junk trucks. Although, in my town, I've only seen about 10 cowboy hats in the past 2 years - so, no, we're not all horse riding cowboys.

Man, I remember the climates. The north was steaming hot, with hail in the spring and slushy snow about twice each winter, while the south was scalding hot with hail in the spring and slushy snow about never ;)

There was an awesome snowstorm on Thanksgiving on '93, though.

I'm delicate like an infant and couldn't take it anymore.:)

LMAO, I own a Merc and drink Cappuccino's.
But cappuccino's are ok though, right? :yelrotflmao:

Hmmmm...maybe. Two criteria will determine

Is the capuccino flavored
Do you drink with your pinky in the air.

If you said no to both, then you're cool. :yelrotflmao:

I lived in Flowermound and worked In Irving for two years and loved it.

the freeway turn around dealy-bob (spurs) saved me alot of time trying to find stuff.

good food too. 3 forks is a top ten steakhouse every year.

True. I know people from Oklahoma, and they are still referred to as "from up there" - even if they've been here for 20yrs, oh and they "talk funny" too. :)
