teriyaki chicken healthy?

Hi there, I have been eating teriyaki chicken or shrimp without sauce (so just chicken) and no salt and steamed vegetables (no rice) everyday. It tastes great and filling. I get this at the mall everyday for lunch from sakio japanese grill. Does anybody think this would be bad for you? It has 56g protein, about 10g of fat, and the veggies have some carbs. Sounds like the healthiest and best tasting way to increase protein ratio but am I missing something? Sodium is way down because I do not get sauce or I am surprised there is only10g of fat according to caloriecount.com (sakio teriyaki chicken) because it tastes so good, tender, and I see the oil on the bottom when I am done. Could caloriecount.com be wrong? Should I eat the rice too? I eat the veggies with no-carb ketchup.

Also why do people want to eat carbs in the morning before working out? Won't you just then be burning those carbs rather than stored fat when you run in the morning?

If its without the teryaki then it shouldn't be that bad, teryaki is loaded with sugars.

Tons of sodium and sugar. Any type of chicken is healthy except teryaki has a mountain of salt in it. Not good for the blood pressure. The only benefit you get is from the protein of the chicken.

There is a ton of salt in it, but if you're not worried about salt, it's probably fine. I don't know how the sauce is made so if there's sugar, then yeah, that would be bad.

And people eat carbs before a workout to use them as fuel. Your body doesn't just go to burning fat because you didn't eat breakfast. It depends on what you ate the night before and what type of workout you are doing. If you're doing aerobic training, most of what you burn will be fat, but that will happen whether or not you ate carbs (or anything) beforehand. It's just the nature of the exercise.

If you're doing anaerobic training and don't have sufficient carbs/glycogen stores, you'll be burning muscle. Granted, your glycogen doesn't get depleted during sleep, but I'm just saying.

If you like eating it, then by all means eat it. Nothing is really "healthy" nor is nothing really "good." Healthy eating means you're eating in moderation, listening to your body, and just not trying to aim at a particular "diet" mentality (like no carbs, or no fat type diets).

Also why do people want to eat carbs in the morning before working out? Won't you just then be burning those carbs rather than stored fat when you run in the morning?

You have to have energy to burn. But you want to eat complex carbs in the morning like oatmeal and stuff, and you want a large amount of protein. You do this not only to prepare for cardio, but you want to do it because it's an important meal.

Usually you want to eat some carbs before cardio, not just "morning."

If I remember the correct scientific reason is because your body burns muscles during cardio. If you have carbs in your system, it will attempt to use that more so than burning muscles. If you're just running without energy to burn, your body will use more muscles for energy. That's bad, because you want to keep your muscles as long as possible, so be sure to eat some COMPLEX carbs (not simple carbs) and be sure to have a meal after cardio (ex banana, fruits, or something and plenty of water).

chicken

I said that there was no sause at all, so there is nothing "teriyaki" about it. It is just thigh chicken grilled. It does not have added salt or sugar.

If you eat carbs and then run and just burn those carbs that u just ate, then why run at all? why not just skip the carbs and the run and then you save time and have the same end result.

the sauce is high in sugars and when broken down these get stored as fat. likewise high salt iis not good for blood pressure, your heart etc.
eating carbs before running- as an immediate energy source- i do if i go to the gym in the morning-without some people run the risk of dizz y spells
