Taking Control!

Thanksgiving is tomorrow so I'm really nervous this upcoming week I won't have a loss at all...
That may well be the case. e don't celebrate Thanksgiving here but from what I hear most US folks gain 1-2 kg over that one holiday weekend: maintaining instead seems like a win in itself to me!

lol I dont' doubt that at all!! I'm definately not going to be eating like normal, so maintaining is most likely going to be the outcome. I normally make ALL KINDS of goodies, but I'm not making any...carbs alone will be enough lol

I'm very irritated today! I gained FIVE POUNDS this last week! I'm telling you, theres NO WAY!!! I knew it was going to be a bad week because my daughters bday was on the 22, thanksgiving on the 26th and my husbands bday on the 29...but I DID NOT return to my old eating habits, I did have cake here or there...but no sugar other then that, and thanksgiving meal. IDK. I just dont' understand, but it is what it is.

I'm going to start counting calories now, I dont' feel like just going sugar free will take my weight loss far for very long. I'm going to start off at 1600 calories for a couple of weeks and see how far that gets me before I lower it to 1400.

Breakfast
PB on 35 cal bread...250
low sugar hot chocolate..80

snack
apple...100

lunch
"crustless" pizza...300

snack
tuna pouch..80

Dinner
Chicken breast with bacon.. 300
Baked potato with cheese and sour cream.. 300

.....1410

Ow, that sucks! Still: in order to gain 5 ppunds in a week you'd have to overeat by 2,500 kcal every day, for a week. That didn't happen, so agood chunk of the difference you're seeing must be water weight.

exactly! It has to be something. I did have ONE PIECE of cake on both the birthdays and then a large thanksgiving dinner...but that was it. I don't' understand. I havn't been drinking as much water, so I'm going to up my game now that I'm back to work and my normal schedule.

I'm happy to see that I finally started losing weight again after thanksgivings gain..then I held on to it...now I'm finally shedding. I hope to lose 10 more lbs by christmas. I know at christmas I'll gain a few pounds back, but its already assumed. It'll be ok. Come the end of December, I'm going to have spring time on my focus and looking forward to going Kayaking this summer!!!

Well done on quickly losing that thanksgiving weight, Korrie & what a fun incentive kayaking is.

Thanks ladies!! I still have 2 lbs to lose to have lost all my thanksgiving weight. Its frustrating knowing I'm just going to gain in back again on christmas, but at least I'm not gaining weight!!

EmilyRose...no, not sea Kayaking, just lakes and rivers. My husband and I fish and we'd like to go fishing from a kayak sometime!

One more pound down. One more to go until I hit my pre thanksgiving weight. I'm going to have to remember at christmas time, how easy it was to gain those couple of pounds and how long its taking me to get it back off!

would be nice! I gained those 4 pounds sooo quickly but its taken me a week to get them back off!!

How'd your weekend go ladies?? Mine went well. It was difficult in the way that I tend to sell my gourmet breads during the holidays and I had 9 loaves to make this weekend, with two being for my family. Believe me when I say it was very hard not to eat more than just a sliver, but I did it...AND I'm now UNDER my pre-thanksgiving day weight!! Between now and christmas I'm going to lose as much as I can because I know that I will gain a few pounds then.

BUT I'm finally at 261 this morning, one pound less than thanksgiving. I'm really looking forward to being in the 250s again!

Well done resisting that temptation and still enjoying a little bit! I guess the advantage of not having Christmas this year is less risk of overeating...

Well done Korrie on only having a sliver & getting down under the pre-Thanksgiving weight. Those 250s are beckoning :)
