this challenge is going to run for the month of february and can focus on whatever goal you set for yourself for the month, but since February is heart disease awareness month (be sure do don something red on the 2nd) let's keep it focused on the heart.

So - sign up by saying who you are :D and what your heart healthy goal is...

Quit smoking or at least cut back? work on stress management? Drop some pounds? exercise regularly? you name it - you can do it...

Enjoy and let's take care of your heart...
 
Mal's Sweetheart Goal:
Weight: 10 lbs gone

exercise: by months end, to be able to walk at a speed of 4.1 miles per hour on the treadmill -and perhaps get those 100 miles in for the month of february

I'll also be monitoring my blood pressure and seeing if the additional exercise and weight loss makes a difference (i really really really dont want to pop a pill :D

This is going to basically be a duplicate post as I just posted on the other thread.

Goals
Get Active: Going along with the 8 lbs in Feb Challenge, I am also challenging myself to meet a goal of 8 miles on the treadmill each week (I started this as of Monday). See my tracker!

Eat Right: Eat a low fat diet that has more veggies and fruits, and drink 80-100 oz of water daily

Manage Stress
I tend to be very stressed at times and need to work on this.

Hopefully this will allow me to meet the 8lb weight loss challenge!!!!
 
Well, my weight has been pretty much stalled, lately, (and I've been completely unmotivated) so I'm going to make some non-weight loss heart healthy goals.

1. 10 miles a week on the treadmill
2. Five servings of veggies a day (I usually get three or four, but would like to get more)
3. 1-2 servings of fruit a day. (I don't eat much fruit)
4. 70 oz of water a day

Other than these things, I'm not gonna worry so much about counting calories and losing weight this month...I'm kind of burned out.
 
JM's goal:
lose 10 lbs.

Exercise: 6 days a week, 3 of which should be higher intensity workouts. also, getting in a day of yoga, either on the rest day or the evening of another workout.

Eating: remain on the same path i've been on; focusing on fruits, vegetables, lean meets, grains and limited starches (at the recommendation of my doc)

Cholesterol: continue to work towards lowering cholesterol (but won't be checked 'til April)

So i'll weigh in every friday, starting today = 263.5

so i started my "long walk" yesterday -and my hip was killing me yesterday not sure what it'sproblem was.. but

speed: 3.6mph
duration: 37 minutes
Miles: 2.25
Distance to go: 97.75
 
Im Cerella and my Sweetheart goals for this month are...

Weight: To lose 9 lbs and get to Onederland!!!

1) Exercising a minimun of 30 mins a day 6 days a week
4/6

2) Going to Curves at least 3 times a week
1/3

3) Focus on eating 5 servings of fruit and veggies a day
2/5

4) To drink 92 oz of water a day
2/7

5) To eat healthier on the weekends and drink water
2/2

6) To do a Yoga work out a minimum of 3 times a week


7) Oh forgot to add - make it to 100 miles exercised for the Sweetheart walk...I am at 70 right now...the exercise challenege ends on Valentine's Day

ok apart from losing lets say 8 lbs this month, my goal is also to start walking more. will somebody please write this down and punch me in the face if i don't stick to it??? please??? :D

a lot of stuff i've read on goal setting - says that you shouldn't use "more" as a goal -because it's hard to quantify it - more can always mean more than you did yesterday but try to give yourself an actual goal... like x amount of steps a day if you use a pedometer... :D
 
Goal - Just get healthy and burn some of my ridiculous excess fat off my body

I am so over-weight that I have fat all over my face/body that I never have had before.

I would set a goal-weight that I want but I don't know how much I could lose in a month
 
Jenn's sweetheart goals for February are:

1 - lose 10lbs, plus the 4 that I didn't lose to meet my January goal. Total to lose for Febraury = 14lbs.
2 - exercise minimum of 3x per week.
3 - drink minimum of 80oz of water per day and minimum 3c of green tea.

Was going to add a goal of "no chocolate" - but it's Febraury. Valentine's is coming. Maybe March's goal.......................;)

Down 2lbs today.
Drank 100oz of water yesterday and 3 cups of green tea.
I also did 200 sit-ups last night.

Aiming for 220 sit-ups tonight.
 
Drank 132oz of water and 3.5c of green tea.
Did 220 sit-ups, 20 wall push-ups, Bellydancing Pilates DVD.
No weight change.

Drank 116oz of water;
300 sit-ups, 100 leg raises, 50 wall push-ups;
Only 2cups of green tea - didn't hit my 3c goal :(
