Sweat Daily!!

Yes, FF, it is whom you think it is. I was surprised to see that you posted. Had to stop and at least say hi to you and see how you were doing.

I am doing fantastic, family is good. Peace to you, FF.

took yesterday off

Riding into office today, and running (run / walk probably) home tonight. Then tomorrow, I will run in, if I can, I may have to drive :)

11 days to 5K. no worries.

I find this thread very inspirational, I hardly can believe my strength sometimes. I've always been a strong person but the things I've found myself doing recently I COULD'NT do them 10 yrs ago for instance I can jog for about an hr I'm doing more pushups now than I ever did, I dunno every week I seem to be getting stronger and have more stamina DESPITE my limitations (injuries, medical etc)

How? Do you ask? It's ALL by the grace of God my friends, all due to the grace of HIM and he's not even finished with me yet, tis ONLY the beginning.......stay tuned.

So- I will tell all about it. "Tough Mudder" is 10-12 mile course with 25 obstacles. It is very cool, and tuff. Right up my alley. I will break it all down tonight, design my training plan, and ENGAGE!

Can't wait to read all about it!

The vibrams go well with the tats - a dragon? - you are stylin' :cheeky2:

Have fun, but don't hurt yourself by wearing them too long at first.

Sure!

OK, so here we go. The "Tough Mudder 2012" Tampa FL, Dec 2012-

Here is the link to the page that has the map of obstacles. It shows the course, and when you place your cursor on each obstacle it expands with a definition. I was going to define them all here, but now that I have done it on paper to help write my training plan, I don't need to.

Go check it out- It's SOOOOO cool!

Bottom line for training-

Mental Stamina- many of the obstacles are very mentally challenging- like going through a 4' x 20' tube buried in mud. oh, and there are four of them in a row. Or the Electrical shock obstacle.

Running - being able to easily run the 12 miles in between the obstacles, should be the least of concern.

Flexibility - with the overs and unders, and climbing nets, or ropes, and walls, and under water, and swimming in mud, the possibility of a strain, twisted ankle, or pulled muscle will be a constant risk for ending the event. Flexibility will be critical.

Full body strength - The ability to carry my own weight. ie pull up count, push up count, etc. Lots of burpees to train.

Teammates - last but not least. There are obstacles that can not be done alone. And my belief is I need to train with others as well. Including you guys!

I have put out a few feelers to find any groups that are training for this event. I will, this weekend, write my weight, cardio, and training plan. Going clean on diet as of Monday. And here we go!

I would love to hear any thoughts on this from you guys.

What's up, man? Decided to sign up after checkin' on ya a few times. Figured out I can hook my phone up to my computer and have some make-shift internet. Good times! Gonna start a journal myself.

If you don't know who this is I"m just gonna be sad inside. Yes indeedy.

Tough Mudder, never heard of it, but looks intense! I have heard of the warrior charge, which looks like the prissy baby sister of the tough mudder!

Oh wikid, there is one in Sydney in September!

Of course3 I know who Max Gee is from Michigan- lol, plus calling me to let me know you were around made it esy for someone as blonde as me :)
Let's do some sweaten!

Ice,
Did you check out the whole course and such? Are you thinking about doing it?

OMG! yestrerday was a total bust, and here I am again today thinking about just working from the house.

B.S.!!! I gotta get moving, headed down to ride to the office downtown, and stretch mid day, then run home.

Period!!!!

Nothing is so hard to get started as "GETTING STARTED!"

FF

---- there we go! Rode to office, double back over bridge twice. Good sweat. Foam rolling for lunch break, and running home.

Fast Walk warmup, stretch and foam rolled. Having greens an tuna for lunch. Also took my magnesiums, calcium, and fishoils.

Good for you for kicking into gear! I don't ever regret doing something active, but always regret not doing it.

Best!

Thank you Sure! I still have to run home (4.5 miles) and swim.

I was wondering if someone could set a fire between the office and my house today, so I can trian for this obstacle!

OMG! I finally had a minute to check out your link - Yikes! Most of it looks fun in a psycho kind of way - as a fanatical caver from years gone by I can totally get into the mud and crawling/climbing stuff, but I don't know about the fire and the electrical sections... What was the phrase you used? Mental toughness - absolutely!

4.5 mile run home , time 52:28. I must say, I was pleasantly suprised by the pace (about 11.5 min/miles) I made. I had to run walk many times. Can you say OOOOUUUCCCH!!!

Sure feels good to be squirting sweat out.

Swim to cool off and relax later tonight.

And yeah Sure! It is a cool event eh! I think the mud and water buried tubes freak me out the most. Or being under the cargo net/barbed wire with a bunch of other people. I've been reading, and one major mental thing to deal with is all the other people, that are either slow, or rushing past, or crying and quitting and the like.
