Hi, Jela & a great big welcome to the forum. Step by step is the way to go :)

Hey Jela, welcome. I have found keeping a diary and posting my food daily is a good motivation, and I have gotten lots of good support and advice from the folks here.

Best of luck!

Hello, Jela! Good to have you around. :)
I'm round about your weight, but about twenty years older; I really, really wish I'd got into action when I was in my thirties!

Thanks for the comments, it means a lot not being on your own about this!

My goal for the beginning is having three main meals and two snacks in between. Fruits and vegetables mainly, some meat, some diaries, some carbohydrates. I'll try to write what I ate.

I know exactly what I should be doing, it's just the matter of being persistent and not too harsh on yourself (my problem).

Dropping by to agree about not being harsh on oneself, on being kind. In how much we demand of ourselves, and also in our self-image, our self-talking. One of the things I don't like about some weight loss programs is how they seem to ask people to say horrible things about themselves as a precursor to being "allowed" to change.

Yes, the psychological aspect of loosing weight is the most important one in my case. I have to have the right mind set.

Right know it is very important to me to be as flexible and spontaneous as I can be, so no rigid plan would do well.

For breakfast I made a smoothie (half banana, handful of strawberries, some oats and milk).

Hey Jela, good to see that you are doing well.

Its most of the problem, we want to eat when we should not, overcoming that is psychological, no doubt! Seems like you are off on the right foot, I look forward to reading about your progress.

Thank you very much for the encouragement!

This morning I had the same smoothie. Yesterday, beside smoothie, I ate some meshed potato with two meatballs, and drank a lot of water and a few sugary drinks.

It's super hot here, so my appetite dropped :)

Heat does have some positive sides after all! Be careful not to undereat too much for too long though, or you may get binge trouble.

I think we all struggle with being our own worse critic. You can only take it a day at a time. Don't forget to praise your accomplishments no matter how big or small!

So, after more than 4 months, I'm back. To keep it short and sweet, this has not be my number one priority, and of course I lost it. I could have lost few ponds instead :) But ok. I guess these setbacks are a normal part of trying to lose weight.

So this time, I will try with baby steps.
First step: BREAKFAST.
Rules I want to follow about it:
1. homemade, eaten at home with full concentration on that (no cell phones)
2. to write down about it here

That's all for now. I will move forward with the next step after I am consistent with this one.
Ideas for breakfast: for now ajvar (paprika spread popular hear) with a piece of bread.

Big hello to everybody. Hope to stay here for longer this time.

Welcome back Jela! Baby steps are excellent. Ajvar on bread is nice but doesn't have much protein so if you should find yourself hungry soon after maybe you could add an egg to your breakfast.

Hi, Jela & welcome back. Maybe add some cheese to the Ajvar to make it more filling. Google suggested feta cheese. An egg, as LaMa suggested, would actually go well. Hard-boiled eggs are a great standby.

i can definitely say breakfast was/ is the key to my diet.
my tip... put if off until lunchtime.
the good news...? no other changes needed... 'cept maybe avoid orange/ any fruit juice.
