Hey everyone! Long time no see. I’ve decided that i need to start exercising and eating healthy again. In December, I was going to start my weight loss journey but with the holidays and with stress eating and binging it just did not work. So, now I think is the perfect time since the majority of us are in quarantine (at least in the US) and I have nothing but time to exercise and prepare meals. My goal weight is 130 lbs. I am currently at 168.9 lbs and I am 5’9. I’ve also developed a better relationship with food, so i don’t binge anymore and i can tell myself to stop. I used to be 135 lbs about a year ago and i gained it all back due to mental health problems and overeating. I’m excited to get started! And hopefully I can have a ‘quarantine glow up’ haha. And of course i’m not expecting to lose more than 2 lbs a week.

Hey Bulldog, welcome back! I´m glad your relationship with food has improved and you feel motivated to join us again. Best of luck :)

Hi, Bulldog & welcome back to the forum. That's great that you don't binge any more. Well done! How is your young bulldog going? Have you started learning to like vegetables yet?

Thank you! She’s doing really good she has a ton of energy! I still dislike most vegetables but i think i’m gonna try making a stir fry next week because i already did my weekly shopping yesterday.

Here is what I ate today:

Breakfast- Protein shake and a cup of frozen berries

Snack- Trail Mix

Lunch- Apples with peanut butter, grape tomatoes, melba toast with cream cheese

Dinner- beyond meat ‘beef’ and i added taco seasoning and tomato paste, and i ate that with a few tortilla chips.

I also ran/ walked a mile today. So far I’m doing good and still very motivated!

Okay so here is what I ate today:

Breakfast: Protein Shake and a cup of frozen berries

Snack: Trail Mix

Lunch: Beyond 'beef' and I added taco seasoning and tomato paste and I ate it with multigrain chips and I ate a few mini bell peppers

Dinner: Smoothie bowl: berries with milk blended, and I topped it off with chia seeds and low carb granola

(I might drink some kombucha later tonight)

I ran/ walked over a mile. Today I realized how out of shape I am. I get exhausted after running for 20 seconds. But I guess it's a process.

It is a process. I was just reading Alligatorob's diary: a year ago his knees and feet hurt so much he thought he'd never be able to do much walking, now he's hiking up a mountain!

It is a process, and you have begun! You will be up and running sooner than you think.

Cate is right, a year ago I struggled to walk more than a hundred feet, or up a flight of stairs. Now I am hiking in some steep mountains, it took a little while but I am happy about it now. I am still working on getting into better shape, compared to others here I am still pretty far down the curve. However compared to myself of a year ago there is a world of difference, and that is the comparison that matters. You are doing this, good for you!

That’s so awesome! Congratulations!

Alright we’re on to day 3 here is what I ate:

Breakfast: Protein shake and frozen berries

Snack: Trail Mix

Lunch: Skipped because I was too busy to make anything

Snack #2: Low Carb High protein quest bar

Dinner: Beyond ‘beef’ with multigrain chips and mini peppers and I drank a kombucha

I know I’ve been eating the same 2 meals everyday but I genuinely enjoy eating them and Id rather eat something I like than force myself to eat something else just for variety.

Also, how long did it take for you guys to see any results? (Of course I’m not expecting any major differences in how I look anytime soon)

Losing weight slowly, while frustrating, is so much better than losing it quickly as you learn so much more, Changing your lifestyle & looking at it as a forever thing is the go. Anyone can lose weight. Learning to make changes that you can sustain for the rest of your life will be key to keeping that weight off. Just eating healthily will make you feel better mentally & when you add in some exercise that will help with mood as well. Finding the right balance is the thing.

So I haven't posted since Wednesday because I haven't been eating well the past few days. I've had some really bad days in terms of mental health recently, I was very emotional and upset and I just didn't feel like eating at all some days so I didn't or I overate on others. However, I'm doing a little better now mentally, so I will pick up where I started tomorrow but this time try to exercise more and indoors (especially since it will be nearly 90F tomorrow)

I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling. This is a weird time. I hope the extra activity help - I know it does for me.

Sorry to hear things have been feeling tough - and especially sorry for the warm weather heading your way. :( Can you get out in the early morning before the heat hits?
