special K diet?

Yeah, if I don't break through this plateau pretty soon, I'm going to formulate the Official Snickers Break-Through Miracle Diet. Eat 1 Snickers Bar for Breakfast, 1 for Lunch, and 1 for Dinner, all washed down with a glass of grapefruit juice. Lose 10 pounds in 10 days!

That's one way to break my love of Snickers. :rotflmao:

I just started the Special K diet and want to know if anyone had tried it??? If so did it work or what???

Okay, I'm not an expert by any means... actually I wing it most of the time... but I think with the Special K diet, the main thing is that you're eating less calories than you normally would. I think I have a box of Special K red berries around and it's 110 calories per 1 cup serving. So if you're replacing what is it, two meals per day with a bowl of special k, and assuming you're going by the proper serving sizes and using fat free milk... after you've had your "healthy" dinner, when you call it a day you've probably eaten less calories than you would have if you had two other 'normal meals'

Did that make any sense? I'm not sure if there's anything else behind it. I think I'd get bored eating it for two meals a day, though. I'd like to try the chocolatey flavour they have out now, hehe.

I don't know about the Special K diet, but I definitely eat it regularly as part of a balanced breakfast.

*thumbs-up, commercial grin* :D

Hah, as far as the diet goes, though, I think Disco is right. It's a reduced-calorie thing. SK is good, but I don't know if I could stand eating it for two meals a day.

I've heard that the high sugar corn syrup in it isn't very good for you, though.

Special K is also not a very healthy cereal - read the ingredients list -most of the versions of it contain High Fructose corn syrup as a key ingredient - that's something your body does not need - plus it's incredibly low in fiber.

your better off taking those 110 calories i a serving and having an apple

well i went to the website and you are to eat it for breakfast w/fruit....lunch speical k w/fruit...plus a snack in between of that..after lunch another snack..dinner what ever u want.... also you can have any kind of speical k u want...also u can replace the spiecal k with their walffles if u want.....any kind of drink as well.... i'm gonna try it for this week maybe for the 2 weeks and let u guys know!

you could do the exact same thing with a better cereal - one that's higher in fiber and/or protein - check out the kashi cereals... it's not the cereal that's doing the magic -it's the low calories...

Hi,

I once tried to eat nothing but special K and it didn't work. However, I couldn't sustain it, mainly beause I love food too much and got bored! Plus its not healthy. I still eat special K but I have a small bowl and some fruit now for breakfast, a good sized bowl of soup for lunch and a proper dinner. The best thing I ever did was make myself aware of calorie intake. I went shopping and wrote down everything I bought - no diet stuff, just food I like - and actually thought about what was in my food.

In two weeks I have already lost 5 pounds and 2 inches on my waist, just through being sensible, going for a walk each evening, and just being aware of what I am cooking It has made a huge difference. I haven't changed the way I eat too much, just portion size really. It is the healthiest way I have ever lost weight and I feel great - just try it! I have whats called 'Nat's Fat Book' which helps me record on a daily basis.

Also, this site is quite useful - it can calculate anything ou eat, including take outs and any recipes you input. Have a look.

Lots of luck with you, I look forward to reading about how its going.
