The box says I can loose 6 pounds in 2 weeks (or something)

and I love the new chocolate cerial stuff they have~ xD
I eat it all the time even tho I'm not officially on the diet yet~=P

Now~ b4 somebody tells me that I don't get the right nutrients in~ I take my daily vitamins every morning with bfast (mom makes me- lolz!)

Honestly,
I think it's a terrible idea.

It is not something you can maintain for any length of time - and just like any "diet" where you eat X foods, and the weight comes off, as soon as you start eating normally again, the pounds will come back.

I simply don't consider it healthy

I hope you find something that works not only for you, but in a healthy way as well.

Being able to do it, and it being a smart thing to do are two totally different things :)

so what should I do?

It's been impossible to loose weight for me in the past few months~ =(

try recording your calories for the day - and see where your calories are coming from.

the special k diet isn't good for you long term because it's just too low in calories.

Must you spam that link all the time? it breaks pretty much all out link rules (ie they are selling something and it has the old 'Order Now' crap)

The article is free, as are many on his site. He has programs for sale, but Im not saying anyone should buy them. I think this is about as basic as you can get, and everyone should take a look at it. I have no affiliation with the site, so its not really spamming for my personal gain.;)

The only reason I considored it is b/c I already eat alot of special K cerial~ I like it~ =P

But if it's this unhealthy than help me out~? =o

What's a good diet to go on?

you really don't want to diet - change your eating habits and figure out how to make your favorite foods work withn your calori range.

Stick to lean proteins. whole grains, fruits, vegetables, etc.. nothing processed... and occassionally have those treats :D

I suggest the 'No Crappy Food Diet' invented by myself of course!

Basically, don't eat crappy food and the weight will come off. Ok, so what's crappy food: Chocolate, sugary snacks, fast food, pasta, white bread, chips etc...

Now I do have a single serving of cereal for breakfast every morning---and at the moment I'm altering between Raisin Bran and Special K. I think if you use the cereal as one meal throughout the day and just load the rest of your eating with fruits and veggies that you'll see some major results.

Good luck!

special k diet??

Has anyone tried this diet? I thought it might be something I could try to jumpstart myself out of this rutt...I like the cereals well enough. Any thoughts?

Having exactly the same thing to eat for breakfast and lunch every day is one of those "diet tricks" that will work with any food. You can do the same thing with Snickers Bars. Have 2 Snickers Bars for Breakfast, and 2 Snickers Bars for lunch, and a sensible, nutritious dinner, and exercise, and guess what - you will lose weight!

If you're in an energy deficit, almost regardless of the type of food you're eating, you'll lose weight. Granted, the quality of the food is very important for other reasons, but we have to look at what's really behind these claims before we accept them as a "miracle cure."

It's also a very low calorie diet - one I wouldn't want to be on for any length of time.

Is it something you could do long term? A way to manage weight for the rest of your life?

Good luck in what you find, but remember, more then anything diet is a way of life, not something you do for two weeks and then get off (we just can't deep six food).

:)

Well...I decided against the diet...I went to the store yesterday and looked at the foods offered...and they all looked so sugary and full of partially hydrogenated oil...

oh well...guess I'll stick with my veggies and lean meats :) Maybe I'll just change up my workouts and see if that works.

Hi Lynz,
I think sticking with the foods you eat would be a good idea - you don't want your calories too low, and I know for me, I don't want to feel "restricted" If I want cheesecake, all the carrots in the world are not going to satisfy me ;)

Have you checked out or ? They are both sites for tracking calories, nutrition and fitness.

Why do I suddenly find the idea of "2 Snickers bars for breakfast and 2 Snickers bars for lunch" so appealing?? Bad, Tom, bad.:)
