My body was really tired today so I tossed a coin about going to the gym (I'm not kidding!) and I ended up going :( but I'm glad I did. My husband took the kids this morning (WONDERFUL man!) so I go to go run out on the road and trails with a tri friend. It was great and not hard! Then I did a small swim
Gym: 5.5 miles
abs
1000 yd swim

B-1c applesauce, 1 serving whey
post: protein bar-I was on the move to a PT appt.
Lunch: 1 chicken breast wrapped in ww tortilla, light mayo

Thats as far as I've gotten today. I had my physical therapy appt today. Turns out one leg is a whole inch shorter than the other :eek: I also underpronate quite a bit and because of those 2 things I have tendonitis with my left knee (i've suspected this) and its whats causing the shin splints in both legs as well. I'll be referred by my dr to a podietrist for inserts and I'll have 4 sessions with the PT for strengthening exercises and this electrode therapy thing (increases circulation). HOpefully with all that, I'll be running again normally by April, just in time for Tri season :D Wishful thinking will get you everywhere :) I almost didn't go today cause my shins have really lessened in their pain, but I know the minute I increase my mileage they'll be back. I'm sure glad I went.

Parents coming for the afternoon. We'll go out to lunch. What a long week this has been. I felt every inch of it. I worked really hard at the gym this week and logged in some great workouts. Taking the next 2 days off and I'm going to enjoy it!
 
Somebody talk to me, I'm bored :rolleyes:

I have a bundt cake cooking and I made lasagna today. We have friends coming over for dinner. I always slice the bundt horizonally when its done and put pudding in the middle and then frost it after its set a little. Its so yummy. I suppose I should just eat tonight and be guilt free about it. Lasagna and cake aren't exactly "on plan" ;) I do need to tighten it up a bit during the week so cheats like tonight aren't a big deal. I've been a lot more loose lately. I guess cause I'm training really hard. My weight isn't doing anything though so I'm good with it.

Beautiful day today. While PA is getting smacked with awful weather, we're out her in CA roasting. I actually wore shorts today. It hit like 74! I'm not ready for spring already :(
Parents came and went. They live only an hour and a half away. They mostly just needed their "grandkid fix". so funny. They're always a great treat to see. I love my parents.
Well, back to the cake. Enjoy your weekend everyone.

I know! Thats the reason I was considering! haha j/k. I used to live in CO so I know about shoveling, although I don't think we never got hit the way you guys just did :(
 
I'm bummin it today, its nice. Tonight we're going to a fancy dancy place for dinner for a late Valentines. Its the only way to beat the crowds. Amazing how many hours are in a morning...when you're not working out! I'm trying to get back to squeaky clean eating. I'm sure I can succeed at that today, minus the wine tonight. Hopefully we won't do dessert. I have zip appetite so far today. Is that a bi-product of not working out too?! its strange, almost like my body needs the activity to promote hunger or something. Don't worry, I'm eating anyway :rolleyes: but I can't guarantee the grand total by the end of the day. :eek:

Oh your celebrating the holiday late. You can have little piece. It won't hurt you that much.
 
Goal of the week is to eat 100% clean and increase my running a bit. No dinner dates or anything else that I can see messing me up.

Gym:
1 hr spin class: speed intervals and hills
45 min run progressive incline to 12% and speed intervals

Workout felt brutal today. The spinning took a bit to warm up to but once into it I gave it a thousand percent. The run RIGHT after the spin is something I need to do more of because of that transition in the tri...but its massivly hard. Especially with the hills. I hope to go later in the afternoon to make up my weights but I may just have to do it tomorrow.
 
Today was super hard:

B-1c applesauce, 1 scoop whey

L-chicken breast, 1/2c rice, 4c romaine, tomatoes, 1T olive oil and balsamic vinegar
S-whey/flax seeds/water
D- cheese and veggie omelet and sprouted wheat bread

Gym:
20 min as fast as possible
20 min interval rowing
10 min moving stairs, intervals
40 min core circuit: abs, obliques, bosu, jump rope, box jump, sprints, lunges (front and side)
500 yd swim (more of a cool off and cool down)

I downloaded new songs last night so I didn't need a lot of motivation to get into the run. I felt fantastic. I walked 2 minutes and then started my speed out at my old sprint pace: 8.0. After 5 minutes I bumped it up to 8.5 and after 10 minutes more I bumped it up to 9.0. I did 2.7 miles in 18 minutes which is around 6:15 a mile! I was SO happy with that.

The rest of the workout was just exhausting, especially the core circuit and all the jumping. My legs were pretty tired. I did a pretty hard run yesterday of hills and intervals after spinning so I was surprised at the speed today. I ran with my makeshift insert in my left shoe which I think made a ton of difference and I haven't had any shin splints from running at all since using it. I go to get custom inserts in a week, that'll be great. I have yet to get to my weights this week..hopefully tomorrow.
