Sparrows Experiment

yes Stingo, I didn't succeed but I didn't go crazy either. I decided to take a teaspoon full of the stuff and set it aside once it was ready to pour and I nursed that for the remaining time I was dealing with "bad food" :) I did chocolate chip/walnut cookies too (my fam's favorite) and of course couldn't resist like a teaspoon of that batter too....could have been worse :) I drank a ton of water with it too and now my tummy is FULL and bloated. lol. I guess better to be full and bloated with mostly water, than mostly batter ;)

How'd it turn out - what recipe did you use? So far I'm 0-2 when it comes to making fudge and would like to get it right this time...

turned out awesome. this is my 8th batch of the season! I'm not kidding, its insane around this season at my house and fudge. I've made pb fudge, mint fudge, walnut and regular :) fun

I PM'd you the recipe

Not exactly sticking to the "clean" thing today but its ok. Its me, the "do over" gal...and tomorrow is Monday. I get serious during the week. Someday I'll give up my weekend fun :) I'm excited to get back to the gym. I REALLY look forward to it these days. Its hard keeping myself from going on the weekend but I seriously think its needed if I'm going to improve in any area. I work so hard for 5 days straight and its really nice to feel 2 days off is deserved and necessary for restoration. Now if I could just eat right those 2 days..I'd be getting somewhere ;)

I had the cafe open 4 days in a row due to our huge christmas program. It was a zoo but I think we made some good profit, which the church needs really badly right now. It was tiring but fun. I love doing it.

One week till Christmas!! I'm so excited. I cannot WAIT till Christmas morning when our kids find out we're going to Dinsneyland the next day! They're going to freak out. Especially my 7 yr old. I love experiencing Christmas through them. Its real magic all over again.

Well just had some down time....till tomorrow..spinning! yippee :D

Heh let me just say that you suck lol - nah more power to ya for doing it right. I made another attempt today and while better than the first it wasn't perfect. The first was overcooked, but this was undercooked... but I'm closing in on the right way - just need a few more tries... lol

would you just put that tired recipe away and try mine :) you'll be much much happier and everyone who tries it will beg you for the recipe...which of course, you can't give out because its "an old family secret recipe" :p

Good workout:
spin 1 hour
bulgarian splits, no additional weight 3x15 each leg (alt leg on bench)
SLDL 70# 2x12 (this is getting much easier)
hyperextentions 2x12 hands behind butt
incline bb press 40# 2x12 ~superset~ decline push ups 2x10
body rows 2x15 w/ feet on 3 tier step
assisted chins 2x12 (assisted at 50#)~assisted dips 2x12
stability ball abs 2x12
didn't do my incline push ups today

I had a bunch of energy in my muscles today. I had a great spin class and I'm sure I must've dropped 10 pounds in water weight just sweating. Even though I didn't eat super well yeseterday I woke up feeling clean and hungry...which is usually not the case so that was great. Tomorrow is the tri class :)

omg now i want fudge :) but im afraid to even attempt to make/buy it because it wont last long in my house  i'm also in the mood for baking, i love the holidays for that very reason because i really dont feel bad when i splurge a bit. :) btw sparrow i must say u are beautiful! keep up the good work and i truly look up to u!

Man you guys are way too nice. Thank you for all the nice words! *blush*

Today was the tri class and it was fun. We were supposed to swim but enough of them "couldn't" or "wouldn't" for various lame reasons so we ended up spinning (again). I wasn't really prepared for spinning. I forgot my workout towel and my clothes were floppy because I thought I was just going to the pool. I like tighter "breathable" clothes to spin, but it was ok. I made it. Each instructor is very different and so far I only like the mon/wed one. The one today was all about LONG hills and it was boring. its also hard to do 2 intense spin workouts 2 days in a row, I found.
Afterwards we went to the bb courts and did a few rounds of suicides, burpies, walking lunges, jumps and abs. It was pretty cool. I dunno, i've been such a loner athlete for so long that its really hard to be part of a group and not have every moment count for something..but its probably good for me.
Thursday we have another swim for time. She wants our half mile time and then we go on an endurance run (probably just 3 miles). I look forward to all that. Tomorrow I will either cross train or run along with weights.
b-1.5c kashi go lean, 1/3 c milk, scoop fiber in water
l-1oz bread, 5oz grilled chicken, 1/2c sauteed green pepper, onion and avocado
s-edit: pure protein protein bar
d-either grilled chicken or grilled salmon w/steamed or grilled veggies. 1 low carb tortilla
s-tea, 2T PB...I was starving late tonight

omigosh, I'm tired today. I went to bed too late last night and then woke up with feeling a start of a cold. I took "airborne" and some vitamins and am hoping for the best. I was thinking with all those nasty germs at the gym, its a wonder I don't get sick more often!
I got my butt there but the spin instructor told us Monday she wouldn't be there today due to renewing her CPR. Well she was there, but after 2 spin days in a row I was looking forward to some easier stuff so I went to do eliptical for 30 min and a jog at 6.0 for 15. Both felt fine but my legs are definitely letting me know they're tired.
After that I did weights. I went lighter and less sets today due to the tired bod.
bulgarian split squats, no weight 2x12 (2 sets each leg)
SLDL 3x15 40#
BB press 40# 2x12
2x10 decline push ups
wide grip row 40# 2x10
bent over DB row 2x12 each arm
assisted chins/dips 2x12 each

Dang tired. It was all I could do not to just pack up and go home in the middle of it all. I probably should have just taken the day off knowing tomorrow will be challenging with the class.
#1-1 scoop whey in water, 1 scoop fiber, 1/4 bagel
#2-1c broccoli, 1T light mayo, 1 can albacore tuna
#3- 1/2 c cottage cheese, 15 almonds, splenda n cinn. to taste
#4-1c diced chicken, salad w/ olive oil n veggies, steamed broccoli
#5-tea, protein bar (its our youth group party tonight so I'll do this instead of fudge, cookies and other garbage)

I hope the remainder of today is restful :)

I have a little breather with no little people around! My oldest 2 just headed off to school and the rest of "us" are still sleeping. lol. must be nice
We had a Christmas party last night where I was a little bit "bad" but bad means 2 small brownies. Today its really yucky outside and I'm scheduled to swim and run in it with the tri girls. Its so funny I actually get nervous going to work out with them :) I guess I'm still a widdle bit intimidated by the whole situation  Today my body feels like a train wreck but we'll see how it does. Often thats when my best workouts happen.
I've been looking for a bike. I have a trek 4500 mountain bike thats awesome and all decked out. It was an anniversary present my husband and I gave each other like 5 years ago. Its still awesome, but not for races. I'm still looking for a Trek or a Giant for the races but whew they're a pretty penny. Probably what will end up happening is switching out some of the parts my bike already has for carbon or titanium parts and getting hybrid tires. At least for now.
...anywhoo...
Two more days of workouts and then I'm taking a week off, since we'll be out of town anyway. I really don't think it'll make a dent, but I will get plenty of calorie burning walking around the theme park. I've been working out like a mad woman. I'm kinda looking forward to the bit of rest. Ok I'll spare you any more boring chatter :D and update the workout later...

DUM DUM DUM (doom music)

::shreiks::

ahaha. you're great I <3 you

LOL.

Workout was great. Better than I thought it would be being that I'm kinda worn down. Its flippin' FREEZING here today so getting IN the pool was the hardest part. We hardly warmed up before we started the timed swim. I got 12:54 for the 900 (36 laps) which isn't too shabby but can be improved. I think thats 1:25ish per 100. kinda average. The next fastest person got 14:50 so I was proud of my time. Right after that everyone voted to run INside so we did 30 min on the tread: 10 min warm up and then alternated 5K/10K pace 2 min each for the remaining time. It was hard to do that after a hard swim. Then we did core work and push ups in a raquetball court.
I do love working out in this class but there are 2 things that irk me so far. One is that whenever I do something "good" like the swim or like they saw I could actually run kinda fast too they go "ah youth", or "oh its because you're young" ok gimme a break, I work my BUTT off to be at the fitness level I'm at. I don't think youth has much to do with it! I work freaking HARD! Plus the next fastest person is 34, 5 years older than me. big whoop. Secondly, these ladies WHINE sooooo much! They are triathletes for goodness sake. Suck it up!

anyway, thats my rant for the post. Thanks for "listening" :)
I kinda didn't care what I ate after I worked out today. My kids are now on vacation and I wanna be too :)
b-1scoop whey, 1 scoop fiber, 1/4 bagel
post workout-protein plus bar
l-burrito with refried beans, spanish rice, ground turkey inside
not sure what snack will be but I'm going out to dinner with a friend. I'll just get chicken salad.
