Soup Diet?

Howdy,

I live for soups. :) I started my lifestyle change back about a week before Xmas 2006.

My ideal meals are a beef or pork soup with chinese veggies and perhaps an egg. For the most part, I generally have at least one bowl of that a day and a salad.

As of this morning, I've lost 26 pounds. Keep in mind I also exercise daily, lift weights, and don't force myself to eat if I'm not hungry. Thus, I'll skip breakfast if necessary or lunch or dinner.

It's been working pretty well for me. There was a period of 2-3 months where I was majorily stalled on a plateau - the scales started moving only last week.

Hope that helps,

iaf

I am using soup as sides and snacky stuff.I used 4 cans of 50 % low sodium chciken noodle progresso soup and added 3 pks of birds eye mixed veggies to it and I am eating it with chciken breast for dinner lunch I have egg beaters and fruit for breakfast.I think this is a healthy way to eat soup and add more veggies if your not a big veggie lover.Goodluck Tammy

:) Youll be very sick by then! Eating nothing but flavored water as your main source of energy (calories). (For the record its the flavoring in the water that might have a few calories. Not the water itself. ( will surely give you a "micro-nutrient (vitamin and mineral and so on) deficiency's. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see you hit a "macro" deficiency from such a horrid diet.

Get off the diet. Read about a balanced diet then get yourself an RD, and maybe a PT to help you out. You are in need of some serious help to say the least.

Who on earth ever said soup is only flavored water? My main meals for the past 5 months or so have been beef or chicken soup - lots of meat, lots of veggies, lots of liquid. It's quite filling and has a great balance of protein and fat (not to mention low-carb as well).

Get your facts straight first before posting such uninformed remarks.

Excuse me? Apparently you didn't read him imply the following "(Insant soup all ya do is add water)". "went out to my local market and bought like 10 boxes of Insant Soups"

Now you wish to tell me instant soups are nutritious?

the diet the original poster mentioned was relying solely on instant soups - not freshly made soups full of fresh vegetables and proteins.. the original soup he brought up didn't even have 1 gram of protein in the soup...

Well! I guess I'm the one who needs to read better. My apologies. I should have been more diligent.
