Hi everyone,

Was reading my Healthy Eatting Magazine last night and I found a diet that I have never seen before.....
(Magazine by Tesco)

Anyway it's called Soup Diet....
After reading about it I thought I'd give it ago!

Basicaly instead of Breakfast & Dinner meals you have a Cupa Soup(Insant soup all ya do is add water)

There roughly around 59-63 cals each depending on the flaveour...
Then for Tea(Afternoon) have a healthy meal even says you can enjoy OVEN cooked Chips!

I went out to my local market and bought like 10 boxes of Insant Soups hehe been trying it since last night and so far I LOVE the soups!
I add crutons somtimes too! hehe there yummie just don't add too many!

I always go for Soups with vegis in like Garden Fresh and Chicken & Veg

So far it's been pretty good I don't mind the soups at all, There tastey and very filling.
The guide says you can have upto 8 soups a day! And thats only 500ish cals so leaves room for plenty of fruit!
Also because it's instant soups you get the benefit of the water(apprently)

Will let you all know how it's going later in week!

Soup is high in sodium.

Soup is low in protein, in most cases.

I doubt it is a great approach.

Just going by what Magazine says....
Per Packet:
Sodium: 0.6G
Protien: 0.7G

Not sure what that means lol dunno what protien n soduim do >.<
soz

And there is less than one gram of protein per serving? If so, that is extremly low. Protein is critical, as well as essential fats. I don't think this diet would provide you these critical elements.

Yea hehe

Soz there Cupa Soup

Not the yacky tinned stuff >.<

Plus the Protien will come form the fruit you need to eat too....
sadly I ate all mine last night lol so I need to buy more.
The soups are pretty good priced too £0.50 for 4 packs.

I really like em too.

whats sodium and protien do anyway?

Sounds a lot like the special K diet, eat special K for breakfast and lunch and hey presto you lose weight because its less calories then what you were having before. Probly not something you could sustain, unless you wanna have a diet made up of 2/3 soup for the rest of your life :) but still it could be an ok way to get started then move onto a more balanced diet.

Don't nuts and milk have protein in?

edit: sorry, Mal already said nuts :)
