Smelly Hair........

Okay Lei Yun Fat.... I looked up what you had and nearly grosed out. You had a staph infection, which can be spead rapidly between humans.

I would never want my worst enemy to have this, they are painful and nasty. Good thing you got rid of it. But did you know that since you have already had this, you are more prone to get "it" again. It is in your blood stream... Did a little research for myself. Best of luck .

Those pictures are disgusting. I don't know how bad my stuff looked, because it was behind my head. It felt disgusting...ughhh just thinking about it creeps me out. I most likely had the chlorine variant, what with working at a public swimming pool and being in and out constantly.

Thanks for the link, sorry I never got back to this :)

Don't even ask me how I found this old thread again.

Smelly Hair Help

Hello

I know exactly what you are referring to regarding the funky, negative hair smell.

Try Tersaseptic, an antibacterial shampoo made exactly for oily scalps. It has no odor and is pretty cheap. I use it and it has really helped my hair smell.

What is a good shampoo for smelly hair?

The smell is possibly from your sweat. Maybe you are eating something causing the smell.
Showering after sweating will help. I would see a dermatologist, in case you have a fungal infection. Try using a shampoo for dandruff with coal tar.

You're 16 and you're hair is graying and smelly?

Also, I typed Smelly Gray Hair in google, and got this topic back as the first result. lol.

Anyway, I did some search, and the best recommendation I could come up with is to buy antimicrobial shampoo and/or change your pillow/bed sheet.

The thing that concerns me is that your hair is turning gray. Are they falling off? Perhaps you have a skin condition. I would check with a doctor first before attempting anything that could further damage your hair/scalp.

I heard that th supplement silica is excellent for hair, but don't take my word for it 100%, I may be wrong. Go to a health food store and check with them. They should know best what to recomend. Or check with your GP.

I find this thread funny because I can relate to this. I have had this problem now for about 3 months. I wash and condition my hair on a daily basis and by the middle of the day my hair has a sweaty, muggy smell. My cousin, who is a dermatologist said that it can be caused by a fungus growing on a scalp.

I skipped grey and went exactly to white hairs, mostly on the edges of my head. I still have a good head of hair at least...no receeding/pattern baldness.
