running or biking?

Wrong! Endurance cardio will burn muscle as well as fat, but intervals will spare your muscle, for the most part. You do not want to be a flabby muscleman, so get some intervals in.

(Though I still recommend endurance at least once a week. When you're getting big, your heart is working overtime, so you need to keep it in tip-top shape! Or, you could avoid it and have your first heart-attack by the time you're 21!)
 
For myself i run on the treadmill and enjoy Mountain Biking. Mountain Biking gets my heart racing much more then just running. If your just going to ride your bike on a straight paved road then maybe running will give you a better workout in a shorter time. But if you really push yourself for a good 30-45 minutes on the bike you can get your heart racing pretty fast. For myself mountain biking works so many more muscles then just running. Not to mention its more fun.
